Our stunning two bedroomed apartment, on the first floor of our grade 2 listed barn, is in a peaceful setting in the grounds of our listed 18th century Oast House. It is within the Maresfield Conservation Area, with views over our garden and field to the 12th century village church. Footpaths can be accessed immediately outside the barn. Maresfield has a village pub (with food) and pubs/restaurants abound in nearby villages. Brighton, Lewes and Tunbridge Wells are easily accessed by car (30 mins), along with local attractions such as Sheffield Park, Bluebell Railway, Wilderness Wood etc. The Ashdown Forest (6500 acres of heathland and woods) can be reached within a few minutes, for glorious walks. If you're interested in all things Winnie the Pooh, we're 10 minutes from the infamous Pooh corner and Pooh Bridge! Trains to London can be taken from both Buxted and Haywards Heath. The Space The barn is full of ancient beams and a vaulted ceiling. Conversion to a well-equipped apartment with two bedrooms, kitchen, dining and seating areas, took place in 2024. It is separate from the house, with the car park shared with our family. Wifi is available as well as (by arrangement) EV charging. A short walk along our quiet private lane (which is a cul-de-sac) takes you to the village recreation ground with children’s play area, pub and village shop. A variety of pubs and restaurants can be found in nearby villages and towns such as Buxted, Fairwarp, Uckfield, Forest Row, Nutley, Fletching and High Hurstwood. Ridgeview Wine Estate is a favourite (25min). The Maresfield Marks and Spencer food store is nearby. Guest access Car parking for two cars is available immediately outside the front door of the apartment. Please note the apartment is accessed by a set of stairs. A small private outdoor eating area is available for guests.
