They asked for cash upon check in

This is scammers place. This is not a hotel in place. The owner tried to cancel Expedia booking and get the money in cash. They do not have even toilet tissue papers. No courtesy. No water bottles. Very dirty and unhygienic place to spend even a second. I don’t know what they charge $349 for. Also they didn’t give the room that you booked online. Also there is a big board for house sale outside. Please avoid this place.

Difficult to actually get into the building (it's not a hotel, it's a house that's been converted into rooms) but when we finally did the owner was very abrupt and insisted on payment immediately and raised the price, room was dirty, roach traps under bed, had to share bathroom with another family, couldn't wait to leave

This was not what I’d hoped we would be. The rooms were small and there were no toiletries. The pictures were very misleading and there wasn’t much to do around there. Also, my price was higher than advertised and I had to pay in cash.

In my opinion, it was amazing I felt I am royalty. I booked a private suite with two queen bed that was called Royal Majesty the prince, the walls and bedding’s walls decorated in turquoise purple. It was super stunning amazing thanks for their hospitality, exceptional they provided free parking and free Wi-Fi in the room even the hard amenities in the kitchen in front of the room and living room. Everything was quiet and we had a pleasure to meet the prince also

This is a very shady place. It was very hard to find the place. I circled 3-4 times around the block, there are no signs for street name (Ross place ). Finally, when I found the place there were no sign for The Empress Palace, it was just an ordinary house. I went inside the building to find out no reception, door was locked with a phone no. on it, to call. I called the number but nobody answered the phone for 15 mins. I circled around the building for 15 mins in the rain to find the entrance. Some lady picked up the phone and demanded cash or e-transfer as their credit card machine was not working , i told her I don't do e-transfers from phone. She asked me to go to the bank and get the cash. I asked her what's the total, she said $380. I told her it was $318 on the Expedia, her answer was "oh, you booked the room without window". I don't you can rent a room without a window or its legally called a room in BC. I ended up leaving the place and called Best Western on G K blvd to stay. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE.

Empress palace hotel is like a guest house but in the royal way is the capital of the beauty inside they have good rooms we saw some phones and we chose the one that we wanted an updated our booking because Djavadi booked had shared room between two rooms so we wanted private I’ll be paid extra They have different type of rooms If you are choosing on line read description 1st We had super amazing day there Our room had a spa and Jacuzzi we had living room and kitchen just in front of our room they are super friendly and pet friendly with extra fee

Loved the area, closeness to the ferry, why we booked here, property is beautiful and staff amazing, guests in the other hand nit so nice to stay, boards banging, yep started at like 1030 went until almost midnight when I got up and went and slept in my car for a bit , 169 to sleep in car lol, so jot property's fault just didn't get much sleep as we need, but felt safe and again bed was soft and comfy room was goodded to epave for ferry by 630
