When we checked into Motel 6, the room felt unclean and unhygienic. While we were there, another person with the same key tried to enter until I opened the door, and they were shocked to find us, as it was the room assigned to us. My wife, son, and I packed up and went to the front desk. I explained the situation to the clerk—a tall, thin man in all black with long hair and black-painted nails—who already seemed annoyed and frustrated when I requested a refund, which I felt was justified given our discomfort. He checked the room, and upon returning, he criticized me about a bag of trash we left near the can (my son had been eating fries, leaving some crumbs, but that’s minor—rooms are supposed to be cleaned, including sheets we sat and lay on!). He was very rude and dismissive, even pointing out that no refund was possible because I booked through a third party (my mistake). Overall, his lack of empathy and abrasive attitude made the experience awful for my family. We will never return and will warn others to avoid this place!
