Roxie's retreat - A cute, well maintained 3 bedroom home, central location

Thank you for visiting our property and our smoke free environment. This is a well maintained home which we are preparing for the vacation/travellers market. We'd love to get your feedback as we just purchased this property and are new to this. This home is bright, modern, cozy and in a charming neighbourhood, located on the outskirts of downtown Victoria. There are 2 bedrooms on the main, and a third in the basement. There is also additional carpeted areas which would be suitable for foamies or other temporary bedding. Uptown & Tillicum shopping centre, Pearkes Arena, Silver City movie theatre are just minutes away. The home is steps from the Galloping Goose Bike/walk path. A 25 minute bike ride along this beautiful trail - a bikers paradise - and you are downtown. Or take the Lochside trail and explore the country side out to Sidney. Easy vehicular access to the Pat Bay Highway or the Island Highway. Back yard is fully fenced and secure. There is also a semi-detached garage for parking, and a BBQ on the back deck.
This reservation has a Flexible cancellation policy - refunds will be issued up to 30 days prior to the check in date.
A 100% refund is provided for travellers cancelling at least 30 days before check-in. A 50% refund is provided for travellers cancelling from 14 to 29 days before check-in. No refunds are provided for travellers cancelling less than 14 days prior to check-in. CanadaStays Booking Fees are refundable if you cancel within 48 hours of placing your booking request.
Our house rules: primary renter must be 25 or older, no smoking, no parties or events, pets permitted.
A cozy 3 bedroom home, with a fenced back yard. Situated between Uptown and Tillicum Mall, along the Galloping Goose Trail (biking and walking trail). Close to Victoria General Hospital and the Pearkes Recreational Centre. Excellent bus connections to downtown or the western communities. The house has hardwood floors, gas fireplace, lots of light, and a well maintained yard. Parking garage and additional parking on the property. ,

Overall a nice house with a small but attractive backyard.The "3 bedroom" listing is a bit misleading, as the third bedroom is simply a finished basement space with a pullout couch, side table, and no other furniture nor closet. Home was generally clean, but could use some routine maintenance and minor repairs (damage to walls and around outlets, very dusty fabric headboard, dirty range hood, etc.) which would approve the overall appearance greatly. Bathroom has been updated nicely, but again shows signs of wall damage.Basement laundry available, which we didn't use, so I can't comment on condition. Lots of games and puzzles provided for entertainment. Plenty of towels and extra blankets/quilts provided. Brochures on nearby attractions and maps available for guest use. House is near a main road with public transit bus stops only about a 5 minute walk. Small mall with grocery store about a 20-minute walk.

The home was as described, very clean, had a well stocked kitchen, and felt comfortable and “homey”. Great living room area to visit with family. Nice fenced in back yard, which our dog loved!Anthony was very kind and welcoming and overall a great host!We really liked the location! Close to some beautiful walking paths, a very clean and quiet neighborhood, and really easy to get anywhere in the city.I will absolutely choose to stay here again.Thanks so much Anthony!

A very pleasant stay. Anthony responded immediately to our questions about the dog towels.We would have liked the lighting in the living room to be a just a little brighter for reading our books.A large wall mirror in a well lit area would be useful, so women waiting for their turns in the bathroom could make themselves presentable.

We spent Christmas in Victoria with our adult children and their partners. Roxie’s Retreat is exactly as described. An excellent location. The kitchen had everything we needed to prepare family meals and even Christmas dinner. Anthony surprised us by setting up a beautiful prelit Christmas tree. The tree and fireplace were a cozy backdrop to family games and gathering.

We were very impressed with this place. Very clean with a nice secure backyard for our dogs. Steps from the galloping goose trail which we biked on every day. Nice river walk a couple of blocks away for the dogs. Would definitely stay here again.

The place is very comfortable lots of room. Very well stocked to coffee and spices lots of pots and pans. The only thing missing that I could see is oil for the frying pan or a frying pan that was nonstick other than that nice and comfortable. Our stay at this property was enjoyable. Clean and nicely located. Met Anthony, who lives across the street, as we were leaving. He was friendly and wanted to make sure we had enjoyed our stay. Third bed is actually a pull out couch. We couldn't find a light on the stairway so it may be helpful to bring a nightlight or leave a light on at night. Would definitely stay here again when visiting Victoria.

My partner, in-laws, pup and I stayed three day at Anthony’s place. He has taken the time to answer all our questions and help. The property is close to convenience stores and nice parks. Garden is fully fenced so our pup had the opportunity to run around. We had a good time and would come back again.

The house was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The area around is safe and quiet. I do wish I was given the arrival information from the host/manager a bit earlier than the day of visit. Also, I was planning to have BBQ during the stay but the grill was not available. It would be reasonable to remove it from the amenities. Lastly, there was a large wasp nest in the backyard that limited the use of the area. In general, my family has a good time on the visit but some improvement can make it better.

The house is clean and basic. The manager is very kind. Bring your own body wash and shampoo/conditioner as they have only kid’s 2 in 1 (body/hair) and also laundry detergent if you are considering doing any washing.
