We were initially pleased with an upgrade and early check-in, but our experience was marred by several issues:
Room 1 Trouble: On our first night, the hatch of the air conditioning unit fell unexpectedly. A piece of paper was stuffed in it to keep it closed. After notifying reception, an engineer was sent, but the issue was superficially addressed. We were moved to another room.
- Room 2 Challenges: In the second room, the shower door had no seal, resulting in a flooded bathroom after each use. Although new towels were provided, we had to improvise as the repair wouldn't happen until the next day, however this never happened
- Safe Malfunction: The safe wouldn’t unlock despite the correct code, leading to repeated assistance requests without resolution. On departure day, we still couldn’t access our belongings without help.
- Power Issues: On our penultimate night, all plug sockets failed, leaving us unable to charge devices and more importantlly resulted in my my husband unable to use his medical CPAP machine. While an engineer addressed this the next day, we were told the issue was due to my unused hair straighteners, which was perplexing seeing as they hadn’t been were simply just on the side.
Despite the hotel's fantastic location and excellent bar staff, these significant issues overshadowed our stay. We shared this feedback with Expedia, but were disappointed to learn that the hotel did not respond to their inquiries, which could have helped improve future stays
