I booked this hotel for my son who was driving from Moncton NB to Calgary Alberta and he needed a place to sleep half way from Thunder Bay to Calgary and this was the only pet friendly place in Virden Manitoba. The place was overall filthy but what did it were the bugs in the room crawling as soon as I turned the lights on. Also the door would not close either. Asked for a different room and was told there was no availability. He ended up leaving without a refund and slept in his car in the Tim Hortons parking lot.

It’s about you’d expect. Not terrible for a quick stop, but probably due for a bulldozer soon. The rooms were clean and tidy, but the building is old and smells like its age. Some mould I. The bathroom and water damage on the ceiling.

We enjoyed our stay here although we basically just slept and showered there because of being in the area for a family reunion. The bed and bedding were clean and comfortable. Plenty of towels too. AC works well. We loved the bagged breakfast that can be given the night before to put in the fridge as that allowed us to eat it at any time. That is the type of breakfast we enjoy. (breakfast bun, yogurt, apple and juice - coffee maker is in the room). The staff is fantastic.. couldn't ask for better. So friendly and efficient. It's not a fancy motel and is older but for our bang for the buck, we will definitely stay there again. We don't need fancy for sleeping as long as it is clean and comfortable. Please do not think you are getting 5 star at this affordable price. If I had to complain I would just ask the motel to wash the front door of the room and maybe redo some caulking in bathroom (the bathroom itself was very clean though). Just getting a little grubby looking.
