“Although the NZ weather was not welcoming, the Barefoot Cottage made up for it. It is ideal for a couple, clean, tidy and an excellent view of the ocean. An easy walk to the nearby cafe and beach (if only it was beach weather). We would definitely stay there again.”

“Not enough wine glasses for 8 pax, we bought 4 and left in cupboard to share. Coffee machine does not have the correct basket in coffee holder to brew the coffee. coffee grinds were very hard to get out to make next one which made a hell of a mess. We wasted a lot of the coffee. If you put the correct basket in it will make a nice coffee.”

It was so idyllic that we spent the second (and last) day staying local to McLeod Bay rather than going back to Whangārei township. This is a true bach with lots of little extras. “Great little place to stay and so close to the amazing beach!!!! We had a little unit with a bunny bed and double bed. Little microwave and a little “ island” tha theme dishes,kettle. Etc….
