We recently stayed at Hotel Lombardy in Washington, D.C. and had a mixed experience. On the positive side, the staff was extremely helpful and kind throughout our stay, which we truly appreciated.
However, the hotel itself feels very outdated—perhaps understandably so, given that it is a historic property. The furniture and room accessories are quite old-fashioned, and the air conditioner was very noisy. It was so loud that we had to turn it off during the night because we simply couldn’t sleep with it on. Our room was on the second floor, and we could clearly hear the street noise from outside, which made it difficult to rest.
Additionally, the room, bathroom, and shower were all rather small, and again, everything inside looked quite dated. While the charm of a historic hotel can be appealing to some, we felt that certain updates—especially to the furniture and infrastructure—are long overdue.
