My experience at Placemakr Arlington was disappointing, primarily due to their disastrous parking situation. During my first stay, I entered the garage behind another patron, assuming it was fine since I’d paid for parking and intended to check in and display my pass. Instead, I was scolded by staff, but no one explained the proper procedure: calling the front desk for garage access.
On my second and final stay, there were no parking spots near the hotel—neither on Glebe Road, nearby streets, nor in front of the garage. Assuming it would be a quick process to check in, I parked near a stop sign adjacent to the garage. The poorly placed signage indicating the need for a permit was two spaces behind me. When I returned to retrieve my ID minutes later, my car was gone—towed almost immediately.
The towing company’s name was conveniently printed on the hotel’s garage pass, raising questions about a predatory arrangement. I was forced to pay $185 to recover my car, essentially adding another night’s cost to my stay. While the staff upgraded my room as an apology, it didn’t offset the financial loss or frustration.
Adding insult to injury, I felt pressured by management and a maintenance worker to leave a good review after my ordeal.
Parking here is unclear and poorly managed, and staff provided little guidance. Unless you want to risk towing fees or endless frustration, avoid this property. It’s not worth the hassle. Placemkr, your guests deserve better.
