This was an absolutely beautiful hotel with staff who went out of their way to make our stay comfortable. The rooms are spacious, with nice big bathrooms containing a big shower and beautiful soaking tub. I did notice that despite the room being beautiful, there was scotch tape on the platform bed frames which I found very odd and out of place in such a nice hotel. Aside from that everything was top notch.
At one point we realized my younger son left his retainer in the case inside the car. I thought the valet would direct us to the car but they actually went and retrieved the retainer case for us and delivered it to our room.
The lobby bar was very nice, good strong drinks, however it was closed on our last full day due to a private event— so we were unable to grab a quick drink when we wanted. The only downfall of this hotel for me, is its lack of restaurants, bars, or nice cafes in the immediate area. Although it is walking distance to MANY must-visit places, museums, monuments, and National Mall… we did have to Uber or drive to every dinner out. This wasn’t a dealbreaker but when I booked I assumed there would be places to eat in the immediate area upon leaving the hotel. That being said, every hotel that is within the center of the city is much more expensive for much less space. I am very happy with our stay and I would highly recommend it to others who are looking for an amazing DC trip.
