Unfortunately, my stay at the Reside Navy Yard was filled with issues from the start. Upon arrival, the hotel refused to honor my prepaid Expedia reservation, and I was forced to pay an additional considerable amount while Expedia attempted to resolve the issue with management. In the end, I was only refunded the original reservation cost, leaving me out the rest with no resolution from the hotel.
Throughout the stay, none of the door codes worked. If you left your room, someone at the front desk had to physically let you back in. Each time we asked when the system would be fixed, we got a different answer from the staff. One team member even accused me of using the wrong code, despite my showing her the email from the hotel with the code included. She insisted they don’t send codes by email, implying I was fabricating it.
The in-room washer and dryer seemed like a great amenity, until we discovered that the dryer didn’t work. After doing a full load of laundry, we reported the issue only to be told, casually, that “a part has been ordered.” No signage or warning was provided, and we were left with wet clothes and no way to dry them.
To be fair, one young man at the front desk truly did his best to help, but he was completely overwhelmed—juggling a constant line of frustrated guests alone.
Overall, this stay was stressful, expensive, and poorly managed. I wouldn’t return or recommend this property until they’ve addressed these serious operational issues.
