First impressions were poor. Was told at checkin that there would be a 3% surcharge when paying for my room with the Credit Card I had just provided. I pointed out that the room was pre-paid. After much scrolling up and down it was agreed. Blamed on the new system. Then was told that breakfast was x amount. Again pointed out that it was included in the room rate. Again much scrolling and again agreed and blamed it on the new system. The desk co-worker seemed to find the situation amusing. I cannot say I felt the same.
Breakfast very disappointing, Scambled eggs you could eat with a straw, poached eggs, continously poaching in a pan of water until hard and rubbery. All other hot food lukewarm warm at best. I pointed this out to the staff, with a “we will pass it on shrug type of response.
Next morning I went down at 6.30 sharp thinking the food must be hot then it has only just been put out. Wrong. Luke warm at best. Had toast on day 3.
Overall I sensed an overall lack of enthusiasm from the lobby staff during my stay. Other staff friendly and helpful.
Positives. Hotel is a modern, multi-storey building, (great view from the 8th floor.) Rooms are clean and spacious. Location is excellent, easy walk from stations, and to Bontanical Gardens. Plus a large supermarket minutes away.
I would stay there again but pass on the breakfast.
