Thank goodness my dau speaks German, had internet access on her phone and the skills to locate the owner who gave her the passcode to get the room key out of lock box. He stated he didn’t see the reservation and upgraded our room. Next we expected to have breakfast everyday for €7.50 each. We went down for breakfast only to find no one on site and no breakfast. We called the owner who……

“Gammelt hotel som gav oss husly på vår vei sørover. Ikke det mest moderne, men god valuta for pengene. Ferske brotchen og god kaffe til frokost. ”

“Das Hotel ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Aber es ist von der Lage in Hahnenklee und im Harz. Schön zum Wandern, Mountainbiken und im Winter eventuell auch für Ski Sport, wenn Schnee liegen sollte. ”

“Leider war das Abendessen (Büffet) am 30.04.2025 ausreichend bis mangelhaft (Fischfilet total fad, Schweinebraten 'totgebraten', Currywurst total fad und sehr weiche Konsistenz; Pommes sehr hart > überfrittiert, Salzkartoffeln sehr wässrig (lange im Wasserbad), Kartoffelgemüse übergart und teilweise schwarz/angebrannt. Einzige Lichtblicke waren das selbstgebackene Brot, die Käseplatte und die Senfgurken. Laut anderer Stammgäste, die ebenfalls SEHR enttäuscht waren, soll das Essen sonst deutlich……

“Very big room for 3 people!”

“We booked 3 nights in a hotel apartment. The first night we spent in a small room and it was not the same apartment we booked, the reception closes at 1pm so we couldn't do anything. The next day we spoke to the only receptionist there who couldn't speak English and was using a translation app, she admitted the mistake and promised to try to exchange the room for an apartment or deduct the city tax which is a very small amount! Fortunately they were able to change rooms but due to lack of time……

“Hotell med bra läge, trevlig personal. Bra städning, bra frukost. Ngt väldigt märkligt dock - är att man hade plastskydd (som hos bebisar) i sängarna och därefter ett madrassvar som även fungerade som underlakan - plasten plockade vi av men vanliga lakan fanns ej så vi hade madrassskyddet som det lakan de hade tänkt. Pga detta kan vi inte rekommendera till vänner!”
