Cozy, remodeled condo on the Saluda River near downtown Columbia and the Zoo

Saluda Gem is in West Columbia, South Carolina on the beautiful Saluda River. It is private, quiet and offers convenient access to I-26, The Vista, Downtown Columbia, and Williams-Brice Stadium. Saluda Gem is a corner unit with a private deck overlooking the river and a community pool during the summer months.

Guests benefit from many fun things to see and do as well as great restaurants nearby. Columbia Canal and Riverfront Park is less than three miles away and offers a flat, paved, walking trail, an amphitheater, picnic shelter, and several scenic overlooks. Riverbanks Zoo & Garden provides another great way to spend the day with the animals, and amusements that include a railroad, farmyard, places to feed the giraffes or lorikeets, a carousel, rock wall, zipline, splash area, and more. After a day outdoors, dine at one of many restaurants offering everything from pizza to white tablecloth dining.

Note we do have a doorbell camera at the front door.

IMPORTANT: This is a residential community and want to be good neighbors. Noise must be minimal, especially from 8:00 pm to 8:00 am. If you seek a party place with friends, you must look elsewhere. Any report of violations will require you to vacate the property immediately.

We had a wonderful stay in West Columbia. This condo is clean, and we like a really clean space in which to stay on our travels. Who wouldn’t? It has beautiful green trees outside the sliding doors that hid the Saluda River during our August stay. You feel enclosed in lush greenery. It is a private community that is quiet and beautifully landscaped. We were 5 minutes away from Riverside Botanical Gardens and Zoo! Our stay was a delight. Bob and Dana are wonderful hosts.

Nice Place

Found everything to be clean inside and very comfortable. However we were unable to enjoy the patio due to the number of spiders and their webs. Maybe some heavy duty bug killer.
According to Google, it's a Giant Golden Orbweaver.

Charming condo in a great location

The condo is very clean and everything looked great. We had everything we needed. It is on the second floor, but the way the land is sloped you only have to go up 6 or so steps to get to the front door. It is also an end unit, so you only have people on one side of you. The neighborhood is very quiet and we didn't have any issues. The back deck is very private in the spring and summer, looking out onto woods. There is a house off to the right that you could probably see when the trees lose their leaves. Note their is only one TV in the whole condo in the living room, there aren't any in the bedrooms. The location is hard to beat. It's about 10 minutes west of downtown and was conveniently located to everything we wanted to do. We'd definitely stay here again if we were going to be in Columbia.

The property was perfect!! My family stayed here because we were going to a graduation in Ft Jackson. The drive was super easy and only 25 minutes away from the base. The property location was also easy to visit other places and restaurants. My daughter had workouts to complete while we were here and there was plenty of room to get her runs in. We will definitely stay here again.

Great stay

This apartment was very roomy and quite comfortable. Bob was very easy to get in contact with and friendly to talk to. The river walk nearby is a must because it was beautiful and shady. The trail was either cemented or had a board walk. I plan to rent this apartment in the future.

Exactly as listed

The condo was located within a quick driving distance to all local hotspots. Easy access and quiet neighborhood. Condo was clean and master bed was so comfortable I wanted to take the mattress home with me! Communication with owner was quick and easy.

Great condo!

The condo was so cute and exactly as listed. The owner communicated well with us and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed (which we did!). We loved being so close to all of the things we wanted to do (the riverwalk, Soda City Market, exploring the USC campus, going to a USC football game). We would definitely stay here again!

Comfortable and Affordable Accomodation

Great, family accomodation as advertised. We rented this place to accomodate for my sons graduation at Fort Jackson. Close to Fort Jackson and limited traffic getting there. Will definitely recommend this property.

Great Stay

We stayed at this rental for two nights to attend our son’s Fort Jackson BCt graduation and everything was amazing. It is very clean and organized. Great view. Plenty of parking. The host checked in frequently to ask if everything was ok and if we needed anything. We would highly recommend this rental .

Excellent stay for game weekend

This was in a very quiet area in West Columbia. Nice clean area and the unit is perfect. Great communication with owner, my son and his girlfriend used pool which they said was nice - my mother in law said it was perfect and quiet. Well appointed kitchen we cooked once or twice, good appliances comfy furniture very good bathrooms and laundry was good to have as well. Parking was plentiful. Quick access to campus in less than 10 minutes to our son’s apartment on campus .

Great stay for military graduation.

We stayed for a family members graduation from Ft Jackson. We were close enough to arrive at the basee quickly but far enough away to not be burdened by base traffic. The location is very quiet and if needed we would stay again.

A Hidden Surprise

This rental was perfect for a family of four. It was clean and had everything you would need for your stay. The kitchen had enough supplies to cook with. The only thing I could say is the pots needed the right size lids for the pans. We made accommodations by using dishes. The sofas and beds were comfortable. Balcony view of woods made you feel like you were upstate. We saw baby deer and the pool was relaxing. You sort of have to drive through a little rundown neighborhood but once you turn into the property, you would never know. I felt safe and would recommend this rental.

USC move-in visit

We stayed for 3 nights while we were in the area for University of South Carolina move-in. The unit itself is perfect. Spacious, very clean, and had everything we needed. The area is not great. Definitely didn't feel comfortable going for a run or walk as the complex is surrounded by some run down buildings. Once you're in the complex, it is fine. The pool was unavailable during our entire stay. This was a huge bummer for us as we had booked this place for use of the pool to give our kids something fun to do. Other than that, we were happy with our stay and definitely recommend if the pool/outdoor area is not important to you. The host was great and very responsive.
