“It was a very nice cabin . We enjoyed our stay there this weekend. The only downside was the chairs on the porch were worn out and didn’t feel safe to sit in . We moved 2 of them off to the side so nobody would set on them . That is where we spent most of our time was on the porch.”

All the houses we’ve stayed at in Carlton Landing have been fantastic, but there were a few extra perks for our family with the Independence House. Its location is perfect for walking everywhere and is facing a big open grassy area where the kiddos had a blast playing football, wiffle ball, and even getting to fly a kite! “We stayed in the treehouse for a long weekend and really enjoyed our stay. It was clean, very quiet and nicely decorated/equipped. The views were beautiful from the bedroom, living and deck. We loved watching the squirrels hop from tree to tree. We used the fire pit both nights and grilled steaks on the propane grill on Saturday. We enjoyed our coffee by the indoor fireplace on cool mornings. I planned easy meals, prepped some ahead but the kitchenette was very well equipped. It was nice to have……

“The Treehouse was everything we were hoping for. We met our adult daughter and her husband there, which is halfway between where they live and we live. The treehouse itself is even more charming than the pics online would suggest, and it's even a bit roomier than expected. Huge deck. Nice fire pit. Nice hiking, even if a bit farther from the lake than hoped for. ”
