“My husband and two of our sons and their wives stayed here for an extended Thanksgiving get together. Each couple traveled approximately six hours from different directions . We were aware that this was a very secluded area and we were fine with that. Played a lot of pickleball and took walks on empty roads. Went in to Old Town Winchester for shopping and dining one day. Only about fifteen minutes and lots to see and do.If you’re looking for a real getaway, this place is great.”

“Location is beautiful and the home was well suited for our stay. The only issue we had was locating the trash bin and realizing that there was no air conditioning in the home except for the master bedroom. It was pretty hot but doable. Thanks again. ”

“We were delayed one day due to the river flooding the low water bridge into the neighborhood but the hosts were great about giving info and keeping us updated throughout. Once we were able to access the property the wait for well worth it, Wow, what a cool house right on the river! There were no amenities that weren't at the house, the Shaffer's are a great host and have a beautiful house in a picturesque location. We cannot thank you enough for a great stay, despite mother nature not playing……

“Grime under the rug, bugs in the light fixtures, 3 stink bugs on the blinds, spider webs in the over vent, and wasps in the 3rd bedroom - which had a bed and open storage for tools. Bug droppings in the mattresses and around the fireplace. We left immediately - this is not for a family that is used to being comfortable. We had to make alternate arrangements for coming to a wedding in the area.”
