Excellent Cozy Cottage

We had a great stay in early March. Access to Lake Placid is quick and easy, but most essentials (food, fuel, etc) are right nearby. The cottage had everything we needed in terms of space and accessories. Rustic overall, but the bathroom is fresh and modern. The gas fireplace keeps the living room warm and inviting. The kitchen is small but functional with a nice large sink. The main bedroom (we didn’t use the second) is very comfortable.Yes, the hot tub can be partly seen from the street, but not so much that it feels invasive. It’s well-maintained and easy to operate.

Great spot to experience Lake Placid and Whiteface

If you're looking for a cozy, comfortable well equipped cottage to explore Whiteface/Lake Placid look no further. Thoughtful renovations, great ambience with a gas fireplace. Owners were great to work with!

Fantastic Getaway

I was impressed with the whole process, communication with the guest, location and clean place with everything one needs to just relax. The fact that it was pet friendly made things better. I gave this place a Five Star plus rating. I definitely will be back for more R&R.

We enjoyed the cabin very much. It was very cozy and had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable, a great bed, amazing shower, nice deck and grill surrounded by beautiful trees and flowers and a luxurious hot tub. All the modern convenience with TVs, ports and electronics. Well appointed and close to many activities, restaurants and the mountain.

Lovely space!

This was a beautiful and comfortable cabin. I was there for a solo vacation and enjoyed having a lot of space to myself. The kitchen had the dishes and appliances I needed, the bed was comfortable, the a/c kept the place at a cool temp, the bathroom had a great shower, I loved having the washer/dryer easily accessible, and the hot tub was a treat! One note for future renters: it is “rustic” in the sense that there was evidence each morning of mice having been in the kitchen overnight.

Cozy cabin

It was a great stay! We loved the porch/grill and the hot tub of course. The whole house is absolutely beautiful. The shower was awesome! Even with the rain during our stay, we still had a ton of stuff to do. Will definitely be back again soon! Katie&Justin

We loved the house, the proximity to the ski resort, Lake Placid and cross country skiing at Mount Van Hoevenberg. Lovely place; loved the updated bathroom, well appointed, easy check in and very responsive owners when we had questions. LOVED the hot tub.

Great Cabin Stay!

The property was a cozy cabin very close to Whiteface ski mountain and a 20 min drive to the center of Lake placid! The cabin had so many thoughtful things in it! It was a perfect cabin to come back to after long days of skiing. I would stay here again in a heartbeat !

Minus stars for cleanliness. It was not clean.

I don't know why they charge an xxx dollar cleaning fee. I spent an hour cleaning what I knew we would touch which was the kitchen counter, coffee bar, coffee maker & tabletops among other things. The worst part was the peeling & moldy bathtub. User guides for the hot tub, fireplace & TV would have helped since we ended up not using the fireplace nor tv. The bed was comfortable & the house seemed private though I would have preferred privacy curtains on the windows instead of shears in order to fully feel safe. The owners did answer texts immediately which I appreciated, especially when I accidentally locked us out of the house. I can only guess that the owners who live in Pennsylvania believe they had a trusty cleaning company but in future bookings, I will look for owners who live close to their rental properties to assess the condition of their rental.

Honeymoon stay gone wrong

The pictures do not show the current state of the house. The owners are in the process of renovations, and things will look different during your stay. They need to be up front with people about this prior to renting. None of the bedroom doors shut properly. The house was not cleaned prior to us arriving. The bathroom was gross with mold. The lights in the bathroom went out, and we had to call the owners. They have 3 breaker boxes, one in the addict up very unsafe stairs my husband had to climb to fix the issue. We found multiple places with mice dropping. The outside door to the house doesn't have appropriate locks. It wasn't the most ideal place to stay for a honeymoon. Over priced and highly disappointed.

Lovely ADK lodge

Beautiful little getaway spot! Cozy and tucked away just enough to feel woodsy, but not too far from so many great things to do! Loved our stay, especially hot tubbing after hiking in the gorgeous fall Adirondack mountains!

Great Place to Enjoy the Adirondacks

The house was exactly as shown in the listing. The check-in was easy and the owners reached out by text very soon after we arrived to check on us. The area is great, with a nice convenience store down the street if we needed anything. We spent most of our time in Lake Placid, the drive is easy and very scenic. Would stay there again next time we're in the area.

Very pleasant place to stay

We loved the rental property. Everything was very clean. The kitchen had everything we needed. The air conditioning was nice because it was humid out. The cottage was very dog friendly, with a doggy door that led to the deck, very pleasant to hang out on.. Our dog just loved letting herself come and go as she pleased. The owners provided a dog crate and treats for the dog and toys to play with. For the humans: the king bed was very comfortable. Trees provided privacy. A few restaurants (including Fratelli’s, which had wonder pizza!) and a little grocery close by were very convenient. The location was a nice distance from Lake Placid: close enough for convenience but far enough to provide quiet. The owners were super helpful and eager to assist with our stay being pleasant in any way they could. We are recommending this VRBO to our friends, whether or not they have dogs.

Weekend Getaway

Cute and cozy cabin - incredible few days of unwinding and relaxation. The location is perfect - off the road enough to feel very secluded. We really enjoyed being able to unwind while being close enough to hikes and activities. Perfect for a couples weekend or small family getaway.

Great stay with the dogs

This is a great mix of rustic and modern. The location is close to Whiteface and Lake Placid and other area attractions. Although it's on a main road, it feels very private. The internet is fast. The HVAC is new. The bed is very comfortable. The gas fireplace and hot tub are nice pluses. It was very pet friendly. We would definitely stay here again.
