Beautiful custom built lakeside cabin completed in the spring of 2023.

Built by the owner John, The Sheehan Lakehouse is located in Mountain Lakes New Hampshire at the base of the white mountains. The cabin was constructed to suit and enhance its beautiful surroundings and features big windows and a back deck overlooking a splendid vista of the lake. The interior is full of precision woodworking, artisanal craftsmanship & custom accents.

This property is great for anyone who loves pond recreation and nature. The back yard is landscaped for ease of access and includes a firepit, a fully equipped shed and a private dock leading out into the waterfront. Mountain Lake is an excellent place for fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding and swimming in the summer. You are not required to have a fishing license to fish at Mountain Lake! Guests may also access the Mountain Lakes District Beach, swimming pool and playground down the street.

Close to multiple ski areas within 30 minutes. Gas fireplace on upper deck, Wireless internet, cable tv, washer & dryer. Parking for 2 vehicles.15 minutes away from all amenities; gas, grocery store, restaurants etc.

Wonderful Winter Getaway
My wife wanted some winter weather for her birthday, so we ended up booking John's family cabin on the NH/VT border. We got in at night, and couldn't really see anything - but the address pointed us directly to the front door.The property was beautifully furnished in a modern rustic style. Central heating was nice, but the wood pellet stove added to the wintry ambiance. We nestled in for the night and were greeted with a beautiful view of the frozen over lake and mountains in the distance! The kitchen had everything needed for a few days and we cooked there a couple of nights to thoroughly enjoy the rental.Location-wise, there's the main local town (Woodsville) that had lots of nice restaurants and a Walmart maybe 10 minutes away toward the west. We visited the ice castles on that night we arrived, maybe 30 minutes driving to the east. We managed to visit the Ben and Jerry's HQ, maybe 1.5 hrs away and I-91 (about 15 mins away) provides a scenic route to southern Vermont.Overall, this VRBO rental was exactly as advertised and made for a beautiful trip into the northern Appalachians. Driving back to I-93 to head back to Boston, we saw the White Mountains in their full glory. The natural beauty in this area is truly magnificent. I'd stay again in a heartbeat...maybe in the summertime?

The cabin is newly constructed and beautiful. Great views from inside the cabin and from the dock. The owners have so many things provided if you have forgotten anything, even for fishing. Peaceful neighborhood and lake. Prepare to relax!

A simple yet comfortable family vacation
Our family of 5, including children ages 3, 5, and 7, loved our stay here! This was a cozy, clean home that offered the chance to relax, try new things (like fishing), cook family meals, and still travel to nearby favorite destinations such as Santa's Village, Littleton, Mt Cannon, and Polly's Pancakes in Sugar Hill. Given the house layout (open loft with stairs), I recommend this for families with slightly older children, or just be ready to keep a careful eye on the kids. It wasn't a problem for us, but a consideration for other families. Between the quality of the home, John's quick and attentive communication, and the location, I highly recommend this to anyone wanting a relaxing getaway.

One of the best!
We have stayed in several VRBO properties and this one was in the top 2. It was a great location for what we wanted to do in the area and enough to keep us occupied at the house. It was very clean, cute decorations, great layout for a family of 4, the lake was wonderful for fishing and the campfire was perfect for cooking dinner one night. We would stay here again and recommend to others.

Lake front stay
We really enjoyed the chalet, super clean and very new. The lake is so peaceful and beautiful, we spent so much time on the balcony with the kiddos looking at the water. Wish the weather cooperated a bit more so we could enjoy the fire pit area but it was still really nice. I’d recommend this place as a quiet retreat or as an option during the ski season for sure. I Didn't Want to Leave!!!!!
Perfectly cozy and comfortable chalet. Meticulously kept, and designed with bits of whimsy on the walls. The Sheehan family must be lovely people. Morning coffee out on the deck was so serene and relaxing.......just what we needed. So thank you Sheehans for providing us with such a wonder fun place to rest and relax while viewing the solar eclipse. Amazing Home!!
I wanted to celebrate my 50th birthday with my spouse, 2 toddlers and mother in law in a quiet setting with the comforts of home. This chalet is EXACTLY that! It was very clean and had everything we needed! It was rather cold but the heat kept us very warm. We didn't even need the pellet stove. This place is completely charming with STUNNING views. The lake was frozen but still made for a gorgeous backdrop under the moonlight. The location of the home was secluded enough to get the peace and quiet I wanted while still being close enough to civilization. WalMart and Shaws were less than 5 minutes away. Communication with property owner was extremely easy and very pleasant. My entire family HIGHLY recommends this rental. I can only imagine what its like in the summer! We will come back and find out!
