Stay in a 200 Year Old Log Cabin with Modern Conveniences

Step back in time as you stay in this 200 year old cabin with all the modern conveniences of today. Located in downtown Bland, Virginia in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains. Surrounded by farms, mountains and the Jefferson National Forest, this is a beautiful and unique place.

Located one mile off of I-77. If you want to know what it is like to live in a small rural town where everyone is a neighbor, than stay a month or two and make lots of new friends.

Even though Bland County is 358 square miles, there is not one traffic light and over 60% of the county is National Forest. Come hike the internationally famous Appalachian Trail or just spend the day rocking on the porch.

There will be a separate charge of 5% for local lodging tax after booking.

This would be a great space to have a romantic getaway with your other half. The space was exactly as described and bland is such a wonderful town. The only thing I wish was that they had at least one recliner. Also to the host please replace the window sill on the left side it would be shame to let the termites get into those old logs. Thanks for such a wonderful stay I never expected to find such a clean wonderful place to stay. Everything was perfect for a weekend getaway.

The property was very unique and just as described. However, I walked through several cobwebs and the curtains were extremely dusty when i tried to close them for some privacy. However, the dust and mold associated with such an old log cabin was too much for my allergies. I was having trouble breathing and could not stay. I had to book a hotel instead.

Peaceful and pristine.

A great place to stay on your way… just minutes from highway and SO comfortable, clean and well maintained. The claw foot tub was the highlight fr me.

Very comfortable overnight stay

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful log cabin. It was extremely clean and comfortable with lots of character! I particularly enjoyed the fire and sofa. We will cherish our stay as a happy family memory and hope to return next year!

The Pioneers wished they had it this good!

Besides the historic charm, this quiet rental has a cozy gas fireplace, fluffy linens in a luxury bathroom, and even boutique beanery K-cups on hand. So much better than a hotel sitting on the interstate, yet a very short drive for a pause along our journey. We took advantage of the kitchen to enjoy the romantic dinner & easy breakfast we brought from home.

A great place near AT

We had friends on the Appalachian Trail and were looking for a place to have access to resupply them and do some day hikes with them. This was ideal. We enjoyed the fireplace. The bathtub was a bonus. It was easy to get to Whytheville to eat out. The big room of the cabin was great to relax at night and watch a game on tv

Comedy of errors

I have no complaints about the property, Under other circumstances I give the place top marks. After traveling all day from South Carolina, we arrived at the property about 10 p.m., the combination I was given did not unlock the door. My only obvious contact was through the Vrbo message system, so I immediately sent a message - no response. Next I contacted Vrbo.The rep was sympathetic and offered to contact someone asap. After a while the Vrbo rep called back and said they could not get the host to answer their phone. They gave me three phone numbers to try myself & promised to keep trying also. By now it's 11 p.m. I called all three numbers, one in Florida and two in Virgina, where the rental is located. I left messages on all. I got a callback from the property manager who, understandably, was in bed. She walked me through unlocking the door. It still didn't work. She then directed me to a lock box located on the property, which would have a key to open the door. She gave me the combination to the lock box and... you guessed it, the lock box wouldn't open either. She said she would come out immediately, but unfortunately she lived 40 minutes away. Now it's midnight. The property manager and her husband arrived & could not unlock the door or the lock box. After several tries husband successfully opened the lock box, by trying a different combination. Once the door was open the host reset it's combination, which, of course worked perfectly...
