Due To This Prime Location, Muted Road Noise Can Somewhat Be Heard Inside Our Shoe As Well As Outside. Ear Plugs and Noise Machines Are Provided For Light Sleepers.

Wonderful girls weekend

Great 60 s vibe
The shoe house itself was a ton of fun. But we were delighted by the 60s vibe that put a huge smile on our face as we walked back in time. We stayed 2 days and we really didn’t get to explore all of the little things and details that the house offered.The driveway gate was a little glitchy, but nothing to slow us down or detract. We ended up using the manual gate on the “in” side more than the automated gate.

Staying at the Haines Shoe House was a surprise bit of fun for us. We didn't know about it, but only found out about it a few weeks ago. The accuracy of the restoration, the details in the interior, the special decor, all worked together to create a wonderful experience for us. The interior was super clean, the beds were super comfy, and all the personal touches to make it feel like a home (in the 50s and the 2020s) were there. The hosts made check in and check out really easy. Hopefully we can come back again soon.

Magical weekend
The Haines Shoe House is am incredible experience for all ages. Our family group age range was 5-70. We all enjoyed our stay. Lots of things to do in the area. House was meticulously maintained and furnished. Campfire under the stars and hot tub great addition to our stay.

Perfect and unique!
The Shoe House was the perfect stay for our anniversary. This is a historical gem you don’t want to miss! So much history and nostalgia exists within the property, it is on amazing grounds, and the hot tub is piping hot! Perfect for relaxing on a crisp fall night! Plus, how cool is it that you get to say you stayed in a shoe!!! The owners/host were super responsive, no issues with access, and the shoe had all of the amenities we needed and more! Super comfy bed. Thanks for recognizing first responders and veterans too! Highly, highly recommend!

Unique and Fun Experience for All
I’m originally from York, PA and grew up visiting the Shoehouse as a child. It was great to get to spend the weekend there and show friends and family how neat it is! The decor in the house is beautiful. The antiques and historical pieces were wonderful! The property was well-maintained and had everything you could need.

We loved this experience in The Shoe! Totally amazing weekend with group of girl friends! Clean and comfortable with lots of amenities. Enjoyed using the fire pit to make s’mores (we brought our own firewood) and the hot tub to hang out and relax. The sunflower field was a surprise bonus. Perfect getaway location
The five of us came from PA, CT, and MD to spend a long weekend celebrating a wedding anniversary and a birthday. The Shoe House did not disappoint! We had fun hanging out downstairs watching the Olympics, lounging in the hot tub, playing board games in the parlor, making s’mores around the fire pit, and cooking together in the kitchen. The decor was fabulous and on point. 5 Stars

Fabulous Stay!
My two sisters, mom, and I were lucky enough to get to stay in the shoe house! It was so cute and well-appointed. (Pictures do not do it justice!) The shoe was a great home base as we visited York, Gettysburg, and Lititz. We would definitely stay there again!
