I have paid the charge online through Expedia but a staff requested me to pay 65 pounds by debit card. He didn't check the details even I told him the reference number from Expedia. Next morning, I was told would pay back to my card but I still not received the payment back in my account. That is a very bad experience for me.

Decent hotel and reasonable price

Overall I am satisfied with the hotel. Though the size of the room was quite small, everything else was pretty good, the breakfast in particular.

i enjoyed my stay the only thing i was not to happy about was there was no lift and i have a job walking up stairs and we were on the second floor ,even my daughter had a job getting the case up and down the stairs

Wheatlands Lodge is a family run Hotel. The care and detai to making ltheir customers comfortable is very evident. The Hotel's decor and fittings fit sympathetically with the architecture and period of the building. The staff that we had contact with were all very polite and helpful. On arrival the staff were helpful and friendly. The breakfast was excellent. The room was comfortable, modern and very clean. The bed was very comfortable too, i had 2 great nights sleep. Parking was tricky, but the staff went above and beyond to get us a spot. The only 'dislike" was the shower/bath. It was very high and a little worrying getting out as there was no grab rail to help. Other than that 10/10

Excellent hotel. Will use it again when in York. Small hotel car park at the rear is perfect and secure with cctv. All of the staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was superb.
