My Mother and I have stayed before. We upgraded to a room with a balcony as we were there for a few nights. They can't do twins in these rooms, but the bed was a super king. It was spacious and clean. The bathroom had a bath and a shower. It was clean. The only thing that could have improved the room was a magnified mirror in the bathroom. We didn't eat in the hotel on this occasion.

Some parts of the hotel have had a face lift and look bery nice but other parts look patched up. For example showers with ruff sealant in, that are mouldy next to a brand new shower screen. Why not fix both at the same time? The water drained slow in the sink and the bath and the kettle looked like it had mould in it and a damaged strainer in the spout. It’s an expensive stay without the previous luxury feel the hotel once had. Cheap and shoddy fixes have ruined it for me. Would probably stay elsewhere next time. The leisure staff were not particularly welcoming either like it an inconvenience to have to let me in. The steam rooms didn’t feel clean and mouldy parts clearly not well maintained.

I booked this hotel a while ago and I then read the reviews and there were some which made me think about cancelling. However, I am glad I didn't. Nice, hotel and great customer service. Swimming pool, sauna and steam room available to use from 6am to 11pm which was great. The breakfast was good and being vegetarians the chef cooked vegan sausages for us. Location not too far from York city centre, we walked it there and caught a taxi back to the hotel and it cost £8.40 which was resonable.

Family friendly hotel close to the city centre which is within easy reach via public transport. We had a family room which was very spacious but the bathroom was dated and in need of a re-furb. Great breakfast with lots of choice and friendly staff. Our children enjoyed the pool but it is quite small and felt very busy at times.

The Hotel is located just close enough to access the city centre - a taxi ride was £11 late at night. The hotel is very clean and the rooms comforatble, tidy, clean and well maintained. For me, the highlight was the staff. They were amazingly friendly including the cleaners who are not as customer facing as other staff. The reception and bar staff were friendly and attentive and the manager greeted everyone in the reception in the morning - when was the last time I ever saw that? Well done.

This was a great stay for 2 adults and 2 children. Despite there being a sign up on arrival that there was a private event with music till midnight… I didn’t hear a thing, the rooms are nice and quiet, the pool was lovely to wind down in after a busy day, and the breakfast was great, plenty of choice, fresh and was replenished often. Parking is £7 for each night, and there is a bus stop on the opposite side of the road just outside the hotel to take you into York, the bus’s are every 15 minutes and we purchased a family all day ticket for around £9.60 which was super convenient, overall a fantastic couple of days was has by all!

I was exited to be offered an upgrade, unfortunately I could hear the hum of a fan or generator. I spoke to reception and they quickly swapped my room. This is a nice hotel, the staff are friendly and helpful, the bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was good. To be recommended.
