“This was a last minute booking but I am so thankful that I found the Grant family’s home in the woods!! Thank you for the complimentary wine, Grant family!!! The place was absolutely clean and even the sheets felt clean. I am very particular with cleanliness and I was genuinely satisfied with how they’ve maintained this property. To give you an idea how clean the place was… the glass on the master’s bedroom shower was spotless! The place was well-stocked! I’m an overpacker and I’ve packed……

“A beautiful place to spend youe nights”

“A quick family weekend in Calaveras County. The main floor and deck are nestled in the trees, a private tree house with the amenities of a comfortable home. Easy access to Calaveras Big Trees and various hiking trails in the Stanislaus National Forest. Equally easy access to wine tasting in Murphy’s. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner in the comfort of this A-Frame cabin nestled in the trees with the serenade of birds. A perfect family get-away.”

“Staying at this homey cabin with the picturesque window overlooking the beautiful trees and meadow is just what the family needed to refresh the souls. The cabin was thoughtfully appointed with little amenities to ensure you have everything you need. Saturday was an amazing spring day followed by a blanket of fresh snow the next. “We are a little reluctant to share this review for fear that this location will become too popular and make it harder to come back, but this home deserves to be shared. This home is exactly as it sounds, a home. The owners have clearly taken the time and effort to ensure it has the comforts that we are used to in our own home. Let's start with location. Right in the heart of Arnold you are within a minute from the grocery store and the one coffee shop (two necessities) and yet still far enough……

“Cabin was clean and well kept. Host communicated very well and was easy to check in/out. Would recommend for a stay in the area.”

“Good for 2 adults and one kid. The owner is very friendly and responsive. The 2nd floor is awesome with two large desks facing the outside, great if you need to work a little bit. We had lots of snow in the first two days! The first floor kitchen area is small and it is ok for some light cooking. But I wish the cookware was cleaner as there is.no dishwasher. Bathroom is awesome. The only complaint is that we had ants invasion problem but the owner was able to send someone to spay and help with……

“We stayed with two other families for a total of 6 adults and 6 kids 10 and under. The house was perfect. We loved having large communal spaces with the kitchen/dining area with plenty of seating and appreciated it being connected to the living area. The kids enjoyed the game room and had so much fun in the huge bunk room. With so many bunks there was no battle for top or bottom bunks. We loved the history of the home and could feel the group/family dynamic it was built to foster. Location wise……
