“We had great time . The view of fjord from the garden is amazing. Enough tables/chairs to enjoy view during breakfast. Our room had fully kitchen. Has washer/dryer. Although location is not walking distance from Geiranger port but the owner offers shuttles for a reasonable 150 NOK per person . The host Ian is very knowledgeable but can be awkward at times. He likes to talk about Geiranger which in a way is good for us tourists who are new to the area. I would suggest the owner to post better……

“The Walaker Hotel is an experience and delight in its antique character, location, service and food experience. Stay there, eat there and attend the owner’s talk … all delicous!”

“Sehr schöne Lage. Einfache aber saubere Hütte ist guter Matratze. Gute sanitäre Anlagen und kleine Gemeinschaftsküche”

“The hotel host was very friendly and provided us with a very warm welcome. The room is clean and tidy. The 3 courses dinner there tasted very good and definitely worth the money. The only disadvantage would be the noise problem in room though ear plugs are provided.”

“Driving into Hjelle through the lakeside tunnel was magical. This repurposed schoolhouse was a fantastic place to experience old-world Norwegian living. Loved the nook beds and touches of history. The modern bath and kitchen were integrated well. The property manager was kind and helpful - he let us know when the early snowfall unexpectedly closed down the mountain pass. Was a great site to just relax and enjoy!”

“The location on the beautiful lake and close to the fjords and lots of activities was great. The breakfast was good. The staff is very attentive and friendly. Of course, it is a guest house and our room was equipped with simple bunk beds. But it was very nice stay for us as a family. ”

“Prefect location, wonderful view from the room, nice and helpful staff, comfortable room and bed, the staff also helping to tell me the supermarket location and open time, hiking route.”

“Trivelig og hyggelig service i fantastisk omgivelser. En skikkelig urnorsk opplevelse i tradisjonelle hytter. Kommer svært gjerne tilbake og kan anbefales på det sterkeste! Eneste minus er kanskje noe utdatert kjøkken og bad, men fungerte fint. ”
