“Great weekend in the old farmhouse (built in 1760). Quiet and relaxing with everything you need - just bring food, the rest is there. House was spotless and stocked with everything you need from crockery and cutlery to pots and pans, firewood, braai grid, fire lighters and even matches. TV with full DSTV channels was a bonus to watch the rugby. It has 2 separate bedrooms each with a bathroom and can sleep 9 people. Highly recommended. ”

The warmth and comfort of High Hopes, together with the delicious breakfast and beautiful garden were more than we had imagined - our "high hopes" were certainly realised! Many thanks Ang et al. “The property itself is so elegant and stylish with unimpeded views across to the mountains. The deck, pool and gardens are peaceful and full of beautiful sculptures. Our room, Room 4 was spacious, light and airy with a secluded private deck. A gorgeous place to stay within an easy walk to town with all its historic homes. But best of all were the delightful hosts, such warmth and so friendly and genuinely wanting to help in anyway and ensure you have the most comfortable stay. Great breakfast.”

“Very nice one night stay while travelling. Stayed in the garden room - very quiet and also has self-catering facilities. Short walk to several restaurants. We opted for a pizza nearby. Expedia shows breakfast included. This is an error - owner trying to resolve with agency. But breakfast is available at a small cost. Just ask Mike to show you his collection - stunning!”

“We really enjoyed our stay. Especially our Toy Poodle and Yorkie. They could roam around freely, because the premises is safe and dog-proof. We enjoyed the goodies supplied and the owners are very friendly. The cottage is nice and big and we especially enjoyed the Netflix. Only negatives, here and there things that were not completely clean, like drawers and over gloves, etc but nothing that a thorough clean can't fix. Overall the place was clean enough. We will definitely go again.”

“We booked and paid through hotels.com - although the hotel has reviews the owner claims he does not use hotels.com. He asked us to pay for the night after we had already paid and have a receipt of payment. The owner asked us to pay again, although we had already paid. ”
