“There was a mixup with the room we had booked, so were given another room which was just as nice, room 5. It was adjacent to the breakfast room however, so if you like to sleep in, maybe not the room for you. The room was beautifully decorated, clean, large and very comfortable. Very private until the breakfast time happens at 8 am. Breakfast was delicious. The only complaint was the hot water shower pressure was pretty weak. We brought that to the attention of the owner and she said they……

“Truly amazing! Beautiful room, views and pool area. The food in the restaurant was splendid. The only thing that was a bit strange was that breakfast had to be pre-ordered the night before, and coffee/tea was not included. And they have no lunch. I guess my feedback is that they should have more food options available. Another note to future visitors - the mountain road up to the hotel was a bit difficult if you have a smaller car. But other than that it was perfect.”

“Wunderbare Unterkunft mit netter Gastgeberin in einer ganz tollen Lage. Bereits zu Beginn erwartete uns eine Erfrischung mit zwei Gläsern Wein. Die Zimmer sind modern und geräumig gestaltet. Die Betten sind bequem. Die Klimaanlage war relativ laut, aber die schöne grüne Lage bringt auch etliches an fliegenden Getier mit sich, sodass ein Fenster-Öffnen eher schwierig ist. Man muss hier also einen Kompromiss finden. Das Frühstück war richtig lecker und mit das beste Omelette unserer Reise. Dies……

“We’ve stayed 3 or 4 times at Excelsior, and, as last visit, had a wonderful time. The setting is amazing, Kirstin who runs it is lovely, very efficient and an amazing cook! James who is maitre d’, is also very personable and helpful. Both of them make sure your stay is top class. There’s a golf buggy you can use to look round the vineyard. The wine is very good indeed, and guests get to drink it free, whether lounging round the beautiful pool or enjoying one of Kirstin’s wonderful……
