“We loved staying at Volcano House! The property is beautiful and relaxing. It’s close enough to Hilo and ideally located right next to the Volcano national park. On Sunday the 20th we got an alert for Kīlauea episode 29 and quickly went to the lookout. We beat the crowds and watched the eruption, it was awesome. I still can’t believe how lucky we were to see it. I highly recommend staying here, the house is outstanding.”

“The space is beautiful inside and out, we struggled with the gate lock the first couple of times we used it, it started to loosen up the more we used it. The frogs come alive at night and give you a symphony. If you’re sensitive to noise while sleeping bring ear plugs. We will absolutely stay here again.”

The host gave so many great recommendations and showed how much she cared from our arrival to departure. We highly recommend this home and stay in Volcano being so close to Kīlauea was great. We loved being in the quiet mountains and enjoyed our time around the home with peaceful outdoor space as well. We hope to return again one day! ”

“We enjoyed our stay here. It was a great home base for exploring Hawaii Volcanoes National Park and other sights on the Big Island. The kitchen is well stocked and the beds are comfy. We walked to the ocean in the morning for great views of the coast and spent a lot of time on the screened porch enjoying the trees and flowers in the yard. They even grow their own pineapples! Craig and Patti are great hosts. Patti notified us about the Kilauea eruption. Unfortunately we missed the show because……
