“We stayed in one of the bungalows. It was quiet and relaxing, and the kitchenette and living space were lovely extras that made it feel like home. The location is walkable to several Montrose shops and restaurants, but it feels tucked away in the neighborhood enough that you’d forget you’re in a large city near downtown. “Okay, it is NOT a Japanese Onsen. However, it is comfortable, quiet, and a reasonable value - especially for that part of Houston. Breakfast was simple, but fresh and satisfying. They also invited me to dinner, but I was tired and declined. The rooms are old, but again, serve their purpose. Only one real item of concern, if one is concerned about it: Safety. “The hotel is beautiful, impeccably clean, and the beds exceptionally comfortable. Houston is a very disjointed city, and not very pedestrian friendly, so I honestly couldn't say much about the location itself, but it felt safe to me. My only complaints would be 1) the noise in the evenings - if you have a room that opens up to the central courtyard, the noise will flood your room, and it's almost like the folks lounging there are planted right outside your door, and 2) the fact that housekeeping……
