“We had a very relaxing 4 day break in this beautiful stone cottage, a mile off the main road near Hadrians Wall, on a farm that practices environmental care and organic stewardship under the Green Tourism Business scheme. The cottage was very clean and very comfortable with a new shaker modern style kitchen, so very easy to make a simple meal. The bed was super comfortable in a roomy upstairs bedroom. “Lovely clean property with lots of space and rooms. Gardens beautiful and accessible with seating. Adults and children really enjoyed our stay however having tv in the reception rooms downstairs would have been ideal. Kitchen was really well stocked with cutlery And plates but there was no basics like salt pepper oil etc. Overall lovely family home. plat3s”

“Two retired couples, we have just had an excellent stay at Sawmill. Very comfortable, extremely spacious and yet cosy, the location and facilities of this property made it an excellent choice and it was perfect for our needs. The large dining kitchen is well supplied with all equipment and utensils that are often missing from rented accommodation. Excellent powerful downstairs shower, and both bathrooms kept in pristine condition. Plenty of hot water, and responsive heating system. Staircase up……

“Wonderful cabin, beautifully decorated, clean and well equipped, with hot tub regularly maintained. Just the perfect size for what we needed, with the bonus of three rooms meaning personal space for the kids. Highly recommended. Absolutely loved our short (two night) stay. Only downside was the proximity to other cabins in relation to unfortunate events on night one. Second night was perfect after dark, with everyone on site respectful and quiet after 11pm, but our first night was ruined by one……

The beautiful home is set upon a hill with amazing views of the countryside. We were able to really disconnect, and traveled to some local places to sightsee within nature, and into town for some dinner (plenty of options in the neighboring villages). “It was a wonderful holiday. The cottage was very cozy, and the hostess even left freshly baked treats for us. The beds were wonderfully comfortable. There was also a baby crib, stair gate, and high chair. The enclosed garden was perfect for the dog.The surrounding area is also beautiful.Highly recommended if you're looking for a nice, quiet cottage that's still close to a town.”
