“Our stay at Canyon Lake Resort fulfilled its objective as a quiet, clean, safe place to stay while we visited the Rapid City-area attractions. The motel lacked amenities you might find at a hotel, particularly regarding walkable restaurants or coffee shops, but those were only a drive away.”

If you are elderly or have physical limitations, getting up and down with suitcases could be a little challenging. We put my elderly mother in the downstairs bedroom to avoid any possible falls. “An amazing cabin, high on the ledge of the mountain. Note: the drive up to this cabin is very steep, 4-wheel drive is helpful. The view is spectacular, but we enjoyed the star filled night sky the most. Cabin is clean and well stocked. We cooked in every night and enjoyed the kitchen and outdoor grill.”
