“The home was very clean and offered plenty of space for our group. However, there was a strong smell. Maybe from being shut up for an extended period of time? One of the boys in our group said “it smells like old people in here.” I would have to agree that it was definitely a smell like an older home has sometimes. Not as well stocked as many similar properties we’ve stayed in, but had a few items handy (paper towels, toothpaste, soap). One big one is coffee! There is a pot and filters, but……

“Our church Leadership group had a retreat here and it was the PERFEECT place for our event! Every bedroom was spotless, comfortable, and nicely furnished! Bathrooms were great - everyone had their own space and the common areas were fantastic as well. Checking in and out were a breeze - just can't say enough good things about this place. If you are considering it for an event - don't hesitate! You will love it!”

“The pictures of this treasure do not capture the beauty of this property. Every time my family have visited, we walk in the door and are still in awe. Whether you choose to fish, enjoy both fireplaces,, visit the darling town in Mount Vernon, or do it all, you will leave with wonderful memories. The host, Kitty, is amazing.and very available for anything you may need. However, you won’t need a thing, as Kitty has thought of everything to make your visit something you will never forget. ”

“We absolutely love older homes, so we were thrilled to find this one! It’s spacious, full of character, and showcases incredible craftsmanship. The rooms are generously sized, and the bathrooms feel luxurious. There was plenty of space for all of us, and the beds were very comfortable.The home's proximity to downtown was a huge bonus. When I mentioned how much I loved the coffee shop on the square, the host even gave me a coupon—such a thoughtful touch!We will definitely be back!”

“host is just getting started. nice place but missed on a few things. 1. common area tv is too high, needs to be lowered by 2 feet. 2. coffee maker missing parts. 3. plastic on bed under sheets. very uncomfortable 4. beds too high, need to be lowered by 8 inches 5. no wifi password. 6. no counter space in bathrooms, empty glassware needs to be removed.”

“We loved Gram’s Getaway! It was clean and well maintained. The kitchen isn’t huge but has everything you need. It is all recently upgraded with new floors, bathrooms, and furniture but it keeps the charm with some of Gram’s things. Check-in/out instructions were easy and nothing ridiculous. We absolutely adored it!”
