“Our entire stay at Coogee Beach House was great. The hostel is very close to the beach and the bus stops. The hostel is cleaned daily, though it’s really hard to control if some of the other guests are not tidy and considerate. My fiancé and I stayed in a shared room. The bed was comfortable. I would just suggest that the management separate guests who are purely tourists from those who are staying long-term to make the stay more comfortable. I’ve observed this in other hostels as well, when……

“The hostel is cosy and social. It’s not a party hostel, but people do socialise in the kitchen. The beds are the drawback here - they are rickety and every time someone moves in their bed, you can hear the springs. Also my bed moved every time the guy in the top bunk rolled around. I’m 193cm and couldn’t stretch out in the bed. Difficult to sleep. If you value your sleep, find another place. ”

“Spicers was the highlight of our stay in Australia. We loved the boutique feel of the hotel. Everything aspect of the hotel was beautifully done, offering a stylish 5 star experience , rather than glitzy ostentatious frills. All of the staff were super friendly and super helpful. Nothing was too much. We would have loved to have stayed for longer as we felt so at home. A worthy alternative to the big hotel chains. The hotel was well located for bars and restaurants within walking distance.……

“I booked a one-bedroom suite, but the first room they gave me was on the lower floor. The view was blocked by the opposite hotel. We needed to close the curtains all the time. Fortunately, they let us move to another room for the other two days. This room faced another direction and on a higher floor. It was much better. There is a bus 440 heading to Bondi junction in front of the hotel. Within 10 mins walk, you can get to L2&3 to The Rocks and trains to Central Station. ”
