“The hotel has just been renovated and you can really tell, everything was beautiful and fresh. The room was lovely, roomy and the bed was very comfortable and it was a pleasant surprise to have a mini-bar with complimentary drinks included. The stay comes with a complimentary wine tasting and I'd recommend taking this, Tyson was so knowledgeable and passionate. We had a LOT of wine tastings while in Stellenbosch and Franschoek and this was the most informative one we had. The breakfast was……

“While the place is handsome and well kept, there are serious issues that I encountered that were reported here by others. The two most prominent were that the choice of rooms I was given was either a room with a door that opens strainght into the dining room, or a room with a bath ONLY (= no showerhead... in 2020...). My complaint resulted in the owner explaining to me this the room EXPEDIA assigned to me.... on my second night I moved to a room which was separate from its bathroom, not a great……

“I had a wonderful stay at 22DieLaan and would recommend it gladly. The staff was extremely kind, helpful and efficient and friendly and welcoming -they even sent out for glue and repaired my earing for the function I needed to attend! The room was spacious and very well equipped, very clean and luxurious combined with an old Cape atmosphere with carefully selected antiques. Well done and thank you!!”

“Room was ok, but for the price you’d expect soap in the bathroom, some sort of milk for coffee, and WiFi that might actually connect to the internet. Also had to get another guest to help check me out because the hostess had turned her phone off. Average at best. ”

“Good: The rooms were comfortable,clean and the bed (mattress) was good. They needed another sheet on the bed (instead of just a comforter as the top sheet). The breakfast each morning was perfect, many choices, and all great tasting. The Staff were very attentive. Bad: The shower had some type of "black worms" coming up thru the drain. I choose this location because they had internet, however internet went out each night around 10pm. ”
