“We had a great stay at Edgewater Retreat. Our family of 5 (adults) were in the area for a wedding. The house was just 10 minutes away, which made it so convenient for the festivities. Everything was just as described. The kitchen was well stocked. Our only issue was the coffee maker didn’t work, which I think was damaged due to recent storms (we let Chris know and he was going to replace it). “This property is a wonderful place to stay if looking for beautiful sun rises and sunsets, beautiful views, and quiet, peaceful surroundings. The home was spacious and wonderful. We loved the central room, containing a spacious kitchen, dining room, and living room (open floor plan). This room allowed everyone to be together and enjoy home cooked meals and lively conversation. We spent a lot of time on the porch overlooking the river, barbecuing, and spending quality family time together.”

“Overall this was a very pleasant stay and experience. The best part was the very responsive and helpful host. The house was pleasant and had enough beds although I do recommend paying attention to the fact that the double bed room requires walking through someone else’s bedroom which was somewhat awkward for all adults. “Comfortable beds, plenty of room to stretch out & enjoy each other’s company, reading on the sunporch, water balloons on the lawn, fishing and kite flying on the dock, a visit to Fossil Beach ( the littles went home with three shark teeth), early morning walks at the wildlife preserve, and a lovely celebratory dinner at 1710 Tavern. “All members of the family loved this house. There was something for everyone. We all love to be outside. There was swimming, hiking, fishing, bicycling, and kayaking. We also toured Williamsburg and Jamestown, so there is so much to do. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. We only wish that we had planned on more days to stay. ”
