“Couldn't have dreamt up a more perfect place to come "home" to each day after adventuring around Ireland. We loved the central location that gave us easy access to Killarney, Waterford, Rock of Cashel, and many other adventures. The views are breathtaking! Walks up the lane were refreshing.We had perfect amount of space for 6 (easily could accommodate 2 more). We enjoyed sitting around the table together at the end of the day, playing games (provided) and talking. Cottage is decorated……

“We absolutely loved staying at the Lighthouse Cottage - a true hide away - quiet and serene! It had everything we needed for a very comfortable stay, and the main bedroom overlooking the harbour entrance was a special treat! The two single bedrooms were more than sufficient for our adult family members.We can't wait to come back next year!”

“Absolutely relaxing and remarkable. Our entire family loved this spot the most. Deirdre is a wonderful hostess who pays attention to every detail. Incredible location as well. Clonakilty was also our favorite destination, as far towns with shopping goes, and it was close by! We happily spent most of the time at the place though. We feel lucky that John showed us the process of milking the cows and their adorable dogs led the way on the gorgeous walking paths. Thank you Deirdre and John:)”

“We loved this home for the moments we saw it online. Then when we met David, he was very helpful with everything in the home, but also had maps out for Ireland. My family did get sick during our visit and David was on it! I followed him i to town to get medicine for my son and husband. David checked in several times to make sure we were ok, and if we needed a doctor. Thankfully we didnt but having the owners close by meant that we could reach out if we needed anything. “We really enjoyed our three night stay at the Brown Hen. Gwyneth is very quick to respond to communication and is a seasoned host! Linens were crisp and clean, beds were comfy for all of us and lots of space to hang out and settle in. The area around the property is beautiful, close enough to larger cities but out of the way so it feels like a real country experience. We felt very safe here. Would definitely stay again! ”
