“First time in Castlebar and found this hotel to be a great location to stay in before my meeting next day. Whilst i arrived after 7pm and the restaurant kitchen closed at 7pm, I rang the reception and they offered me the choice to pre order a dinner - went for Roast Beef. On arrival check-in was very swift, my room was warm and comfortable and dinner when served was delicious. Quiet room with warm shower and great bed - so superb sleep enjoyed. Breakfast was delicious with nice choices on……

“From the moment we walked in and we were greeted at the front desk, to our breakfasts, to dinner in the resturant the staff made us feel right at home. The rooms themselves were large, very clean, the beds comfortable, and the views of the clew bay amazing. Room service was fast and hot, the laundry service as well was very fast. I would recommend this hotel in a heart beat to anyone. We stayed in many hotels while in Ireland and this one was by far the best. As a side note there is a lot to do……

“Lovely quiet and secluded. The area around the lodge is absolutely breathtaking. Breakfast and dinner were lovely as well. We used the lodge as our base for a couple of days of hiking in Connemara and it was perfect! The only issue we had was our room was too hot and we couldn’t find a thermostat to lower the heating, opening windows was not really an option because of insects.”

“The staff were so welcoming and they could not do enough for you, from the receptionists, the restaurant staff and the room service staff. Lovely, comfortable rooms and plenty of areas to sit and read the complimentary newspapers and library books. The parking pass for a nearby car park was very helpful when we could not park in the hotel’s underground car park. ”
