“Soul enriching location. The dock, the fresh eggs, the local GBH, and night sky all contribute. Quick access to Blackwater NWR. The furnishings and kitchen accessories are adequate. The microwave door no longer closes correctly and has to be pushed until the fan stops. None of that matters because of the location. ”

“Our family of 4 came for a long weekend at Solomons Island, where we spent time as kids. The Retreat on the Patuxent is an ideal place to get away for peaceful relaxation, while being conveniently located near the restaurants and attractions at Solomons. My mom loved the upstairs bedroom/bathroom suite, and the downstairs bedrooms were spacious for me, my sister, and her husband. We enjoyed the spacious kitchen, the open family room, and the amazing views of the Patuxent from the front windows.……

Finding a place that could comfortably accommodate our group of 20 for a two-day family and friends trip with a private indoor pool, hot tub, billiard table, table tennis, kayaks, and a private deck exceeded our expectations. “We really had such a lovely time. The home was spotless and included so many little extras (like ziplock bags, snacks, spices and coffee). The beds were cozy and there were plenty of places to stretch out or enjoy the scenery from the deck. The game room was a real bonus to bond as a family away from devices. We were a short drive from some nice places to have lunch and breakfast. The location allowed us to take short day trips for scenic or historical walks. I had a few planning questions which……

“Listing and photos accurately describe accommodations. We were comfortable and satisfied. A nice rural location for perusing outdoor activities - fishing, hunting, boating, paddling, birdwatching. Good parking for a boat trailer. ”

“We had a lovely time on this trip. The house is spacious and the yard/location is great. The kitchen needed a few more things that we could have used but overall we would definitely return. There are no stores nearby so buy everything you need before arriving. You will not regret coming to this house. We made a lot of memories and enjoyed every minute. The host was very attentive and helpful.”

“The property itself is lovely, but the neighborhood has seen better days. The city other than the one street with the cafe and mural seems to be vacant and there isn’t much to do for a family with young children other than the park with the light house. But like I said, the home was lovely.”
