“Our granddaughters live in the neighborhood and our youngest was having her first birthday! It was just my husband and myself, way more house than we needed but tons more comfortable than a hotel. The winter views of the Bay from the living room were awesome. I highly recommend you make a cup of coffee and watch the sunrise. A few surprises with the house itself, the most egregious for me was the fireplace pictured is not functional. The hosts have done a nice job with this house and are still……

“Soul enriching location. The dock, the fresh eggs, the local GBH, and night sky all contribute. Quick access to Blackwater NWR. The furnishings and kitchen accessories are adequate. The microwave door no longer closes correctly and has to be pushed until the fan stops. None of that matters because of the location. ”

“We really had such a lovely time. The home was spotless and included so many little extras (like ziplock bags, snacks, spices and coffee). The beds were cozy and there were plenty of places to stretch out or enjoy the scenery from the deck. The game room was a real bonus to bond as a family away from devices. We were a short drive from some nice places to have lunch and breakfast. The location allowed us to take short day trips for scenic or historical walks. I had a few planning questions which……

“This property was exactly as described. The owner was very easy to work with. Unfortunately, we did not get to use the fire pit as it was rainy and cold. I would 100% stay here again.”

“Listing and photos accurately describe accommodations. We were comfortable and satisfied. A nice rural location for perusing outdoor activities - fishing, hunting, boating, paddling, birdwatching. Good parking for a boat trailer. ”

“ Our stay at Captain's Quarters in Maryland was simply incredible! From the moment we walked through the door, I was struck by how spotless everything was. The views from the property were breathtaking, showcasing the beauty of the area and providing a perfect backdrop for our memorable moments. We were a large group and worried about packing everything we’d need, but to our surprise , Captain's Quarters was fully equipped! We found all the cooking and serving utensils we could ever need, and……

“This house is huge and has lots of different indoor and outdoor gathering spaces so the kids and adults in our group of three families didn’t have to be on top of each other in one living space the whole time. Big firepit area and huge lawn were great, and we enjoyed the kayaks and canoe. There’s a place to buy fresh crabs, oysters, and shrimp very close by, and the house has everything you need for a crab night. The owner was incredibly responsive and kind.”

“This property offered a truly magnificent stay. We were delighted by its gorgeous and clean environment, the peaceful atmosphere, and the impressive array of amenities. Finding a place that could comfortably accommodate our group of 20 for a two-day family and friends trip with a private indoor pool, hot tub, billiard table, table tennis, kayaks, and a private deck exceeded our expectations. The accommodations were spacious and spotless upon arrival, and we appreciated the ample supply of……

“Our family of 4 came for a long weekend at Solomons Island, where we spent time as kids. The Retreat on the Patuxent is an ideal place to get away for peaceful relaxation, while being conveniently located near the restaurants and attractions at Solomons. My mom loved the upstairs bedroom/bathroom suite, and the downstairs bedrooms were spacious for me, my sister, and her husband. We enjoyed the spacious kitchen, the open family room, and the amazing views of the Patuxent from the front windows.……

“What a wonderful stay we had! The house was so comfortable with plenty of space for everyone to relax and enjoy each other's company. We enjoyed the brisk mornings on the porch and the gorgeous sunsets in the evenings. Very comfortable beds and linens. The scenery and landscape in the area are breathtaking. Every turn provided another incredible view of the water. Fishing Creek is close to so many beautiful, quaint towns along the Chesapeake Bay. Highly recommend!”

“We were in town for a reunion and this was a nice alternative to the local hotels. Updates to the house were nicely done and I love that checkout was simplified to two to three tasks, not a whole laundry list. If I had two suggestions, one would be that the plug-ins were too many and too strong - we considered opening a window for some relief but did not since we were out at the reunion most of the day. But only one per floor would likely be enough although the house is so clean (five stars!)……

“Our stay was fantastic, and we plan to return indeed! The house was immaculate and perfect to accommodate our daughter who is in a wheelchair. We even arrived to a surprise hot tub addition! “This was the best rental! Cute little early 1900s farmhouse with beach decor. The kitchen js well equipped and there js a nice grill outside. The firepit was a nice way to spend evenings as was the screen porch.The little beach about a 5 minute ride/15 min walk was an added bonus! We will definitely rent here again!”
