“It was a lovely home, very comfortable with all the necessary amenities. Sitting on the back porch for meals, watching the sunset and relaxing was wonderful. The beds are comfortable.”

“Jonathan and Megan are amazing hosts— thoughtful, responsive, and just all around wonderful folks. The property is always clean, comfortable, and well appointed. Our family enjoyed being so close to Murray, yet removed from the town enough to enjoy the wooded and peaceful location. The patios are delightful to enjoy a morning cup of coffee or an evening to watch the fireflies. Our 12 year old son loved the larger living room area to spread out for his space. The kitchen has everything one needs……

“The view was amazing! Hot tub was super clean (needs a new lid) house was very clean! Owner was great to work with!The dock was further away than the pictures made it seem and it was not accessible to my husband who has a bad back bc it was very steep. But!! It had everything a family would I need to have lots of fun at the lake!”

“This was a trip for us to remember. There were 8 adults. PLENTY of space! Beds were good. Great air conditioning!! Such a plus for a 2 story home when it’s 98 degrees every day! The owners were incredibly responsive and helpful. The men fished every day! There is a nice cleaning area also for the fish! Would maybe stay again!”

“Awesome place. Stocked with many and all items needed for a relaxing secluded time on the water. Lots of things for our teens to do to keep them entertained. The stairs down to the water were a little challenging, but gave us a good cardio workout to burn some calories. highly recommend to those who want to get away and relax. Remember to bring what you need ,it a good 40 minutes to grab a gallon of milk or loaf of bread. That being said the Downs House was wonderful and you won't be……

“We have stayed in several VRBO properties at Lake Barkley, and this one was our favorite! We had four couples, and each of us had our own bedroom and bathroom. The lake access and private dock were perfect for us, and the driveway was spacious enough for our boat trailer. Great stay! ”
