“We returned to Hotel Agava for another two-night stay. I must now downgrade the good review I gave them on Dec. 4. Once again, the biggest problem was their refusal to honor my request for 3:30pm check-out, despite the fact that the hotel was almost empty. I had requested this at the time of my reservation on Hotels.com, explaining that we had a long wait before our train. This was summarily refused. “The staff is nice and the linens are clean but this is not a good hotel. Bring slippers as there is carpet in the room which is extremely dirty and stained so you will not want to walk on in with your bare feet. The air conditioner freezes so don't put the temp below 23 C and close the bathroom door with the fan on after a shower or it will freeze the A/C. If it freezes, turn it to fan only for a few hours and it will start working again. There is a basketball court/soccer field outside of the……

“The bathroom wasn’t dirty, but the tile was poor quality where I could easily slip and break my neck. Also the drain in the bathroom was missing and shower leaked on to shower floor. Also unclear how to use heater/AC. Other than that it was fine.”
