“A wonderful base from which to explore Sussex, Hampshire and Kent. The upside down arrangement allows for lovely views over the countryside complete with sheep, lambs and pheasants. The property is thoughtfully equipped, down to plenty of power points, some with both C and USB ports. The kitchen is full of just about everything you could need. Attention to detail is everywhere. A lovely, comfortable place to relax. Definitely a place to revisit. Highly recommended!”

“Difficulty in finding property. Needs sign at entrance. Very dangerous exiting drive onto lane. Needs a mirror opposite to show lane both ways. Lodge and rooms very small. Trip switch overloads if you use kettle and use cooker same time. However, my tel contact and personal contact with the gentleman owner was very convivial. ”

“Beautiful! Clean, bright, equipped with everything you could need, very secure, we have a dog, a beautiful vase of fresh flowers from their garden and a very nice welcome pack, especially the decadent chocolate cake! Across the road was an ideal open space to walk Fraser and all the nearby towns easy to get to, ie Rye, Hastings and Battle to name a few. It’s a lovely area to explore and the cottage a wonderful find, thank you”

“Beautiful cottage, well furnished and fitted out to very high standard. We found it extremely comfortable and could not fault it in any way. “Lovely stay at the stables. They have been converted to a high standard and were very comfortable for our family with two small children. It was great that there was a stair gate in the top bedroom as there isn’t a door. Had a nice meal at the local pub and in easy reach by car of local visiting sites. The hosts were very helpful and friendly and let us wander around their lovely garden. Would recommend. ”

“This house was perfect for me, my husband and my sister. We were at a lunch party on Haying Island and we were able to easily drive to Sheffield Park in the light. The parking was so convenient and the cottage was extremely well equipped, not that we needed a washing machine. I would unhesitatingly recommend it. We tried to set off the dishwasher just the once, but the top shelf was attached by elastic bands and so we didn't risk putting anything there. Had we been going to stay longer I would……

“We stayed for four nights in June and were delighted with the facilities provided. One king size bedroom, one double bedroom and a small room suitable for a child (we brought our own crib for the baby). Small details like the stair gate and a few toys helped too. The patio furniture was well used as we had glorious weather. Staplecross is well placed for exploring Rye. Hastings, local vineyards and National Trust properties. We would like to return next year!”
