“The Inn has an antiquated toilet- the type where the water tank is up high then you pull a chain to flush. Light fixture in the bathroom is a chain pull as well. Although old everything worked as it should. The food at the Inn was especially good. Good value accommodation. ”

“A great inn in Edingbrugh. We stay for 3 nights with two rooms. The breakfast is wonderful and the bad is very comfortable. The room is equipped everything we need during our stay. Though no lift to the 2nd floor and 3rd, we still enjoy this small old building. However the street noise can be heard clearly that might put you sleepless whole night, especially over weekend. We could leave lugguages for half day after check out and help make our walking tour on Royal mile easier. Thank you……

“Hotel is in a great central location. Unfortunately restaurant and bar closed early for the off-season, given mid-March. However local area still had lots of other eatery options, plus hotel was open for a breakfast. My room 5 was single in attic, but dormer window provided great view of bass rock, particularly at sunrise. ”

“Our room was clean and comfortable - very charming. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Loved the quaint atmosphere - the meals in the gastropub were very tasty. The only concern we had is that the bed was a little too hard for us and the pillows too soft - but features like that are very subjective so that might not be a problem for you! The Inn is situated on a main road so can get very busy at times. Our room did overlook the road but once the window was closed and blinds drawn it was quieter.……

“This has been my favourite find so far. The location is stunning, environment relaxing, the staff are fantastic. I have enjoyed many return visits to dine in the lovely restaurant and to stay. The children feel this is like a home from home and treat some of the staff like family.”

“We had a one night stay here. The location was easy to get to, just off the A1, and there was plenty of parking. To check in you have to go into the Marstons pub where there is a small reception desk. We checked in and then you go to the seperate accommodation block. There is a large Asda and a very nice garden centre just across from the site. We ate in the pub restaurant which was nice food at a reasonable price. The room was big enough for us and was comfortable. We slept well. Breakfast……
