“Nice place. Good service”

“Hall is looking tired on the outside with visable broken and boarded up windows at the very top. Room was dated, we stayed in the Munro studio, no windows that open and looks directly onto the back entrance so needed to keep blinds down otherwise people could see straight in as this is a ground floor room. Opposite kitchen so could smell the cooking. What made this stay was the lovely staff and evening meals were great”

“Excellent hotel, nothing to complain about. Stayed here to go to scafell pike which was around 25 minutes drive away. Also a beach around 10 minutes drive away. Hotel has a large car park, great outdoor space to sit as well. Only down side was we went to pool room and it was locked, got the staff to open it and got change for the table from the bar. Just as we were going to start playing noticed one cue was broken in half and the other the tip was missing. Dart board not in the best condition.……

“The hairdryer did not work Some sockets were not ‘live’ There were at least two, unsafe, gang-extensions The hot water took over five minutes to reach the tap or shower There were no shelves in the bathroom There was one small towel rail The iron is impossibly complicated to use Someone unlocked our room door and began to enter on our third morning, before 8 am There was no hook on the back of the bathroom door We were provided with only one small bottle of shower gel over three……

“Great hotel if cycling C2C, as they serve breakfast from 4am. Cycles allowed in rooms too. Very clean, although my bathroom was very small and fitted with a movement light, which meant it going dark whilst in the shower”

“Friendly check in - had already been sent online registration form so very smooth. Room clean and nicely furnished and bathroom obviously recently fitted. Hadn't intended to eat in the restaurant but having ventured into Workington and been unable to find anything inviting, we were squeezed in even though it was a busy Friday evening. Glad we did as the food was very good. Only negative of the stay was the road noise but that was the compromise for getting a lovely mountain view.”
