“My Mom, Sister, Daughter, Niece and I spent a wonderful weekend here for Mother’s Day. We loved the location. As the listing says, there is noise from the trains, but earplugs were provided and it didn’t stop any of us from sleeping well. We enjoyed walking all over Alma to see the sights, enjoy the river, and local dining. Great little historical town, tons of character and charm, and friendly businesses. “Property is in a beautiful historical building located within walking distance of many downtown establishments. Also took advantage of the bike trails in the area. Enjoyed the full kitchen stocked with everything we needed for our 2 night stay. Only suggestion might be to upgrade with more comfortable funiture in the living room area. Overall we very much enjoyed our stay! ”

“The place is cute and was clean upon our arrival. Location is ok, not far from Mayo Clinic. The mattresses could be comfier, but other than that, communication with host was easy, instructions clear, and the place is cute and clean.”

"Staying at the Alexander Mansion felt like stepping back in time to an era of elegance and warmth. Every piece of furniture and every lamp tells a story—but what truly made this stay unforgettable was the hospitality of the 80-something host, a former chef, who graciously prepared a beautiful and heartfelt breakfast ceremony for us. His kindness and attention to detail gave our journey a sense of home and heartfelt care. Thank you for not only providing a charming place to stay, but for making every guest feel seen, welcomed, and cherished. This will remain one of the warmest memories of my travels. I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone seeking quiet, history, and genuine hospitality. It’s more than just a B&B—it’s a soul-soothing experience."
