“Layback Retreat is a lovely property within an easy 15 minute walk to bars, restaurants,shops and the lake.We particularly enjoyed the patio, garden (thanks for the boules) and barbeque.Mick was brilliant in sorting out the gas for us for the barbeque!We had a great stay!”

“The cottage is warm, clean and homely. A nice spot for a family. The kitchen was well-equipped, even including tupperware containers for leftovers (rarely seen in holiday houses!) but no dishwashers. The bathrooms were clean but a bit tired and one cistern needed a bang to stop it from running after flushing. Once mastered it was fine. ”

The views from almost every room are incredible, we loved relaxing in the living room and eating at the dining table, all while being able to look out at the most amazing vistas. This house is very well-designed, we loved how there was a separate TV room where the kids can chill out and watch their shows, while the adults can stay in the main living room and enjoy the ambiance. The kitchen is wonderful. The bedrooms have high quality, comfortable mattresses and……

“Warm and comfortable spaces. Only down sides, were no WIFI passwords given and Owner didn't respond to request. First aid kit was empty of plasters. An instruction manual for the oven would have helped also.”

“We loved the location of this cozy cottage in Manapouri. We were able to walk into the village easily and grab dinner and it was a short drive to Te Anau. The owners provided great information about the local area and hikes and had lots of great books about the area. We definitely felt like a local staying here and it was a perfect getaway spot. (We especially loved listening to the melodic birds while sitting on the patio.) ”

“Great little property, with excellent facilities. As we were a group of 4 retirees we did miss a dining table and chairs as we prefer to cook ourselves and play cards at night, but otherwise very comfortable and excellent assistance when we had trouble with a can opener ”
