Cosy house with rustic charm, big garden and sublime view on the Etna and sea

Casa Rosa is a renovated farmhouse amidst a beautiful natural environment: 2 hectares of vineyards, cherry trees and a wooded valley ideal for your summer picnic. On one side you can admire the Mount Etna and on the other side the coast: a landscape of 150 km that stretches until Taormina, the coast of Calabria in the far north and the province of Syracuse in the south.

The ground floor has a living room with fireplace, sofa and dining table, kitchen, bathroom with toilet, bidet and shower, and a living room with double sofa-bed. In the attic there is a bedroom with large double bed, a terrace and a large bedroom with large double bed and two single beds. There is also a bathroom with toilet, bidet and shower. The garden is equipped with garden furniture including parasol and beach chairs, barbecue and various toys for children. The fireplace also supplies the central heating which makes Casa Rosa also suitable for a winter holiday. There is wifi internet.

Casa Rosa is an excellent base from which to explore eastern Sicily. The village lies halfway between Catania and Taormina and just 15 kilometres from Acireale (a pretty little city, built on a plateau of lava, that is known for its Baroque churches). Giardini Naxos, a seaside resort with a sandy beach, is just 25 km from Casa Rosa (15 minutes with the highway).

Casa Rosa is also an excellent base from which to explore Mount Etna and its surroundings.

Wonderful!

The location was idyllic and the view stunning! Ernesto greeted us with olive oil, grapes from his vineyard, cheese, meats, bread, olives water and his delicious wine from his private stock. Ein schönes Haus mit einer sensationelle Aussicht bis zum Meer und zum Ätna. Sehr sauber, sehr freundliche Vermieterinnen und Ernesto, von dem man Schlüssel und eine umfangreiche Einweisung bekommt, ist einfach ein Schatz. Ein rundum gelungener Urlaub.

Accueil parfait dans un endroit superbe

La location correspond à l’annonce, l’accueil d’Ernesto est très sympa avec pleins de bonnes petites surprises (marmelade, fruits, pain ...). La vue est superbe avec l’etna juste à côté. Le gîte est très bien équipé avec tout à disposition. Nous avons passé un excellent séjour. Encore merci à Ernesto.

Out of this world

The photos don't do it justice, this place is INCREDIBLE. The views are totally out of this world - Mount Etna on one side, and you look out over what feels like the whole of Sicily on the other. I watched the sun rise one morning and couldn't believe my eyes. Truly stunning. Ernesto is the sweetest man, he left us fresh bread, local cheeses, fruit, his own olive oil (the best we tasted), beer, his own white wine (delicious) and lots of goodies for when we arrives which was so kind. He so showed us the cherry trees in the orchard and said we could help ourselves which was a particular highlight for the kids. Before we went I told him my son really wanted to come to Italy and pick lemons, he'd harvested his lemon trees before our trip but saved some on one tree for my children, they were over the moon and I was so touched. The house is incredibly well kitted out, had everything we needed and totally beautiful, I felt like I was in a movie the whole time. Don't hesitate to book this place, we had the trip of a lifetime and made such special memories in this house. Thank you Ernesto for everything you did for us.

Schönes Bauernhaus am Ätna

Wir haben insgesamt 13 Tage in dieser schönen Unterkunft verbracht. Die Lage mitten in den Weinbergen ist toll, ebenso wie der Blick sowohl auf das Meer als auch auf den Ätna (wenn er denn nicht in Wolken ist). Die Anfahrt aus Petrulli über den schmalen Weg ist noch in Ordnung, allerdings nur mit einem normalen Auto. Tiefergelegte Sportwagen haben hier nichts verloren. Gewöhnungsbedürftig ist dagegen die Einfahrt auf das Gelände sowie die Ausfahrt. Aufgrund einer Wand gegenüber muss man schon heftig rangieren, aber Übung macht den Meister. Hervorzuheben ist der Gastgeber Ernesto. Freundliche Begrüßung mit einem Korb Lebensmittel für die erste Zeit. Ausführliche Erklärung des Hauses und der Einrichtung. Er war auch bei kleineren Problemen wie etwa einer leeren Gasflasche für den Gas-Beistellofen sofort zur Stelle. Für Reisende, die eine ruhige Unterkunft in der Natur am Ätna suchen, ist die Casa Rosa ideal. Und trotz der Abgeschiedenheit ist Zafferana Etnea mit seinen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, Restaurants und Cafés nur ca. 8 Autominuten entfernt.

Beautiful house and great host

We had a wonderful time and were warmly greated by the host Ernesto, who not only gave us a lot of useful recommendations but was so nice to provide us with fresh fruits and vegetables, some drinks and local specialities. The house is beautifully located at the top of a vineyard with a great view. We will definetely try to return to Casa Rosa as soon as possible :)

Wir hatten eine sehr schöne Zeit in diesem Ferienhaus, es ist abgelegen und bietet eine erstklassige Sicht auf die Ätna und auf das Meer. Sauberkeit und Ausstattung sind super, alles vorhanden was man braucht. Zufahrt mit einem PKW ohne Probleme, mit Bus oder Camper nicht möglich. Der Empfang durch Ernesto und die Erklärungen/Tipps zu Ausflügen/Märkten etc in Nähe sind sehr herzlich. Wir kommen gerne wieder, absoluter Geheimtipp.

A wonderful and tranquil stay

We had an absolutely amazing time at Casa Rosa. If you are looking to unplug and be amongst nature and silence, this is the place to be. The house itself is beautifully restored, it looks just like the photos. It is equipped with everything you could possible need. We loved the yard and surrounding area of vineyard and fruit trees. Every morning waking up and watching the sunrise over the sea was bliss, a sight we will never forget. This was a perfect stay for us and our 2 young children, lots of room inside and out. The hosts Ernesto and Maria very kind and warm. They were quick to respond to any questions and even stocked the kitchen for our arrival. I cannot say enough about this unique accommodation- we hope to return!

Charmant accueil du propriétaire. Nous y étions 15 jours. Maison de campagne proche de Zafferana aux pieds de lEtna. Idéal pour aller à Taormine, Catane, Syracuse. Ferme aux ânes ASILA à 1 km en traversant la forêt. Plage de San Marco très bien. Prévoir répulsif moustiques. Nombreux bons restaurants et possibilités de courses

Het huis is mooi in de natuur gelegen.; rustig maar niet afgelegen. O.a. de hop hebben we gespot. We hebben iedere dag weer genoten van de tuin met het prachtig uitzicht. Het nabij gelegen plaatsje Zafferana Etnea is een gezellige plaatsje waar alles voorhanden is. Vanuit deze locatie zijn er meerdere activiteiten te ondernemen. Taormina (0,5 hr; parkeermogelijkheid en verder gratis met de pendelbus naar het centrum. Slenteren door straatjes en een bezoek aan het griekse theater) en Syracuse (1,5 hr; Parc archeologico NeaPolis en het schiereiland Orthiga) zijn de moeite waard. Verder verschillende tochten naar de Etna bijvoorbeeld met gids voor meer achtergrond informatie over de vulkaan . Ook is er de mogelijkheid om met de kabinelift omhoog te gaan en daar wandelingen te maken.

Empfang und Begleitung während des Aufenthaltes sehr angenehm, aufmerksam und unkompliziert. Das Haus ist wunderbar, einfach ausgestattet, aber sehr sauber und es ist alles da, was man für einen schönen Aufenthalt benötigt . Die Lage ist traumhaft , die Terrasse ebenso . Alles sehr empfehlenswert!

Landhaus mit Blick auf Ätna und Meer

Herrlicher Weitblick auf Meer und Ätna. Nach Sonnenuntergang die beste Kulisse für ein romantisches Abendessen im Garten zu den Lichtern der tiefer gelegenen Strassen und Gebäude. Sehr ruhig gelegen. Mit PKW ist Zafferana mit seinen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten und als Ausgangspunkt für Touren gut erreichbar. Einzige Schwierigkeit ist der Schotterweg zum Haus, der nicht viel breiter als ein grösserer PKW ist. Der Fahrweg wird selten benutzt und Ausweichstellen sind vorhanden. Wir waren aber froh, in der Woche unserer Anwesenheit keinem Fahrzeug zu begegnen. Der Vermieter kümmert sich mit viel Hingabe ganz reizend um die Wünsche der Gäste, z.B. mit Empfehlungen für Ausflüge, Touren, Einkauf etc. Sein Willkommensgeschenk erspart den Einkauf mindestens fürs Abendessen und eine Mahlzeit. Das Haus ist sympathisch eingerichtet. Nicht jedermanns Sache dürfte der alte Geschirrschrank in der Küche sein. Für uns war er völlig i.O. Sehr gutes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis. Wir werden wiederkommen.
