“The pictures and even the written description DID NOT prepare us for the actual property. In short, our experience was AMAZING.To start the rooms and capacity were much larger than expected. And there was not one thing overlooked by the owners. Everything was extremely clean and neat and very well organized. Also, there were so many unexpected amenities…far too many to list.We enjoyed our extended holiday weekend family visit immensely!”

“We were in VA to celebrate our daughter's white coat ceremony at VMCVM. Most of our time was spent in Blacksburg, but we did explore Craytor Lake State Park and had dinner in Radford.This house was perfect for us. Everything we needed to make our stay comfortable was provided. The area is beautiful and quiet. The property is very pet-friendly (we were traveling with our dog). She enjoyed walking along the road and got to see cows up close and personal for the first time. The listing is accurate……

“Unable to get a hotel room so this was the only alternative. The RV was listed as big enough to sleep 4. Three would have been possible but 4 a stretch and there’s no way 4 people could have taken a hot shower. I got a lukewarm one day one (only in for several minutes) and my son’s was ice cold. Also the place was clean but smelled of stale beer. Also the AC ran constantly even though thermostat was set at 75 degrees. Place was frigid.”

“Milda and Brandey did everything to make our stay blissful in this private, enchanted space. As Brandey predicted, the daffodils had started to bloom, which made for a beautiful backdrop along with the ponds. We had a small group for a ceremony and a buffet, eat-from-your-lap style dinner. The trails were lovely and the landscape design inspiring. We caught a fish and heard many types of birds including a barred owl and golden crowned kinglet. Chicadee's were nesting in the bird house. “Our winter weekend at Lost Horizon was perfect. The home is a gem inside and out with so many gathering spaces, amazing views, as well as privacy. We enjoyed the gas fireplace, cooking in the well-equipped kitchen and sleeping in the comfy beds. The owner has an amazing collection of books displayed throughout her beautifully decorated home. We did not want to leave! Also, the owner, Debbie, was very helpful and easy to communicate with. We never got to try the steam room, but there will……

“We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin. It’s what we needed to get away for the weekend. The place has everything we needed and it has that simple yet cozy feel to it. We love how quiet it is staying there, the surroundings are clean and it’s that secluded yet close to everything little peaceful place we needed.Host was great at communicating with us as well. Definitely will go back in there for a shot little getaway of peace and quiet relaxing stay.”

“Great place to stay on Claytor Lake for a getaway with college alumni and football weekend.”

“This was a great place to stay. Great view of the river on the great deck. The house was perfect for the family. I would definitely like to rent for another time. We will be coming down in the fall to go to Va Tech football games and will try to rent again.”
