“Great house for a large family vacation up north on a lake. Everyone had their own space but under one roof. The kitchen was amazing and had all utensils we needed. Bring your own seasonings and sharp knives. Plenty of fridge and freezer space. Had a great time cruising the chain of lakes on our pontoon (not included in rental, we brought our own.)”

“Not a fancy location but functional and pet friendly if you choose to bring your pet along. The house was clean. The yard is huge and has nice water frontage. There is a dock available to tie up your boat, but no electric, so plan accordingly. The kayaks were the sit-on-top kind and worked pretty well. The house is in a bay right off of a main channel with alot of boat traffic so exercise caution on the water. There is shared driveway with two other properties. Not alot of room to park……

“This place is great! It has everything you need. We had 13 people ages 8-75 and everyone was pleased with the stay. The games, pool table, furniture, and view were fun for all. We did catch some perch and walleye which pleased the fishermen. Communication with the owner was great, she was responsive to anything we needed. This was our second trip here and will be back again. ”

“We had a wonderful stay with tons of fun and priceless memories! Lots of room for everyone. Being our group was large to the max, freezer space was very tight! Dishwasher only worked well on light wash! Do bring extra dishwasher pods, dish towels and dishclothes! Bring extra washer pods also. The majority of us had to leave a day earlier due to funeral, clinic appt and college commitments! I did feel bad as I did not strip the beds as in one place I read no need and then I also read don’t do any……

“We loved our time at the cabin. It was fantastic having everything right there for us. We’re able to use the Jon boat, kayaks, and paddle boards in the lake which was so clear. Sunset over the lake too were beautiful to watch from the living room or screened in front porch. The weather wasn’t always cooperative but great times were had by all.”

“Stay was a blast overall. House was very clean, layout great. Fireplace was welcome when it was six below. Kitchen well-stocked except lacking any spices save salt. Manager told me health regs preclude condiments being left, which is a first for any of us. Nice to have access to lake where we walked out and talked with ice fishermen. “Butternut Lake is a little slice of heaven. The house was clean, equipped, and plenty of space for our family. All my questions were quickly answered before or during the stay. We enjoyed fishing, canoeing and swimming daily. Great hiking and biking were also close by. We appreciated the fish cleaning station so we could enjoy our catch for dinner. “It was the perfect size for my husband and I. I think any more people would be crowded. The bedrooms are very small and the bed was not comfortable. We fished off the dock a caught a lot of fish. The neighbors are closer than we expected (with barking dogs) which was an inconvenience at times. It’s not the properties problem i understand that. The driveway is very tight and would not fit a trailer. Overall it’s a cute little cabin!”

“The frontdesk personnel were a bit preoccupied. We felt like some personal issue happened before we arrived. The room and bath are small but comfortable. I was surprised that there were no usb plugs in the room. We decided to go to the Heidout at the end of the street for dinner and back to the hotel bar for a nightcap. The drinks were good and reasonable but again, just didn’t feel welcomed. ”
