“We very much enjoyed our stay at Portland Sanctuary! It was myself, my husband and my toddler. It was a large space, and had everything we needed. The kitchen was especially convenient and having basics like oil and spices made it so we could easily prepare a few meals. Beds were quite comfy too. My son loved the chickens in the yard! Only negatives were that the heaters are low to the ground and can get hot to the touch so I had to be careful which ones were on when my toddler was ”

Thank you Lyle for allowing us to share your home in what was a sad reason for us to go , because of you and your quaint lil home it was more enjoyable than I expected and I was able to spend much needed time with my baby Sister thank you again. ”

“Just what we wanted: a spacious amount of room for 4 people, an unusual location while still convenient to Portland, and a responsive host. It's more "house" than "boat," but it's located on a pretty little stretch of water with a small current. We loved watching the geese family, heron and beaver across the way. We weren't expecting train tracks to be so close, or the trains so plentiful, but it soon added to the charm of the place. Access is easy, with one reserved parking spot. Others living……

“Very happy with the property. The place was well kept and in good order fantastic host and an enjoyable stay. I do feel that the beds need new linens and the listing should indicate that the second bedroom is also the living room with a fold out futon. We found the linens necessary to make up the bed but they were old and dingy. Overall very happy with our stay peaceful nice neighborhood fantastic views interesting and fun place to stay.”

“This place is amazing! What a great place to stay. Super close within walking distance to many food options which was a huge plus for us! The unit we stayed in was very clean, and a cool little outdoor sitting area. The backyard is a very cool tranquil area to sit and relax while feeling secluded! I highly recommend staying here! The hosts were equally as amazing and helpful with information. We will for sure stay there again.”
