“Custom pole house with views of ocean, stars and Haiku countryside. Closest you can get to a 5 star tree house. All the amenities you could want in a home that seems too remote to have them. Our favorite was the sliding doors on 3 sides of the house - opening them created a nearly constant tradewind breeze, along with the sounds of birds, crickets, and the occasional coqui. “Pros: Incredible setting and the grounds are beautiful. Whale watching from the hot tub was probably the highlight of our trip. The pool gets the perfect amount of sun on the nice days. The whole property is very calm and relaxing. The people onsite are incredibly friendly and do not disturb the guests.Cons:The circle bed in the listing photos in incredibly uncomfortable. Getting in and out you or rolling or kneeling on marble to get on a mattress that has seen better decades. We would've slept……

“Our family of 6 adults and four children ages 6, 10, 10 & 12 enjoyed this little piece of paradise. Plenty of pool towels and lounge chairs. The outdoor patio furniture was great with shade for those wanting to stay out of the sun. The pool was an instant hit and the yard is huge! Dining outdoors was a nice option with the large dining table and lots of chairs. There is a gas grill, 2 fridges and enough room to park 4-5 cars. There is a large capacity washer and dryer and the outside shower……

“We had a great time. Location is beautiful. House is comfortable, clean, and well-equipped. The view is amazing. Pool and whirlpool were a hit. Close to stores/restaurants in Makawao. Good hiking nearby. The hosts were responsive and helpful. Really can’t say enough about the views. I spent more time enjoying the views than reading my book! Didn’t even think about turning on the TV!”

“Breathtaking views, quiet serenity, and a communicative host. Beautifully appointed home, well stocked kitchen, all you could need. We would 1000% recommend this home if you are looking to stay upcountry. The only drawback Is the drive time to West Maui,that’s it. Phenomenal home, great host otherwise.”

“Where else on Maui can you find a seven bedroom, seven bathroom private home that exists in a botanical garden? This place is an Upcountry Shangri-la, whether you’re working or playing. It mixes the utilitarian (see above about bedrooms/ bathrooms) with the Romantic: jaw dropping views, unforgettable sunrises and sunsets, and a view to the night sky that would make an early explorer just as relaxed. I’ll bet there are two dozen interesting trees on the property: an epic Banyan tree, an avocado……

“The property is beautiful. We had a family gathering of kids and grandkids. The space fit our family’s needs well. There is a large grass area between the house and beach. You can play volleyball, bags, and croquet. The beach was a minute walk from the house. The Maui sunsets were spectacular. Not a good swimming beach but a wonderful beach for exploring and watching the sea turtles come out and rest on the rocky sand. ”
